A Timeless Gem in Maratea
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and instantly felt at home. The property is stunning—spacious, beautifully maintained, and full of charm. We especially loved the private rocky beach with crystal-clear turquoise water—a rare find.
The hotel carries a vintage 50s–60s vibe but is well-updated for comfort. Though we didn’t get to use it this time, the tennis court was a nice bonus. Overall, a peaceful, elegant retreat that we can’t wait to return to.
There was a small miscommunication about sunscreen availability at the beach club—we were charged ( 59 euro for the sunscreen) at checkout without prior notice- as we thought they provide sunscreen when we asked for it at the beach. ( lost in translation 😛) It didn’t affect our experience, but clearer communication would have been appreciated.
Staff were lovely, warm, and helpful throughout. A true hidden gem—highly recommended for a relaxed, upscale getaway.

We spent 5 nights here for our honeymoon and had an incredible stay/experience. The hotel itself was magnificent and decorated in a classic style. The staff were super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure every need was met. The choice of pool or beach kept things fresh every day, and the walkways down the cliffs to the shore were an excellent opportunity to see the local wildlife. We’re not usually beach people, but this one kept us coming back for more The food and dining experience was excellent. Although, it was slightly overpriced. Could have done with some cheaper lunch options especially within the hotel grounds. That said, there was a selection of local restaurants to give you the choice which was great. We enjoyed a couples massage during our stay. This was also brilliant and very relaxing. The Spa facilities were nice, but we opted to skip these as they also felt slightly overpriced. All in all though, a fantastic stay and great choice for the honeymoon. Would recommend :)

Every detail, from the reception to the restaurant service, was handled with care and elegance. The atmosphere is refined yet inviting, and the entire team goes above and beyond to ensure a flawless experience. The cuisine is exquisite, the setting breathtaking, and the service impeccable. We felt genuinely valued throughout our stay. A remarkable hotel that perfectly balances luxury and hospitality.

Our family stay at the resort for a recent wedding event was wonderful. The grounds and location are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the staff was exceptional. The atmosphere was relaxing and a great counterpoint to a hectic European tour.

Hotel Santavenere is a unique property in the Gulf of Policastro, part of The Leading Hotels of the World. Comfortable rooms, excellent restaurant, and beautifully maintained common areas. The staff are always kind, helpful, and professional. With the view of the Christ the Redeemer, the stay becomes truly unforgettable. Highly recommended!

The hotel is great due to its location, big territory and direct private access to sea. That is why we have been visiting it every year until now. This year however it is clear that the quality of food for dinner dropped from 5 stars to 3 stars and no longer matches the quality of the hotel. Since there are almost no fine-dining restaurants in Maratea to visit instead, we have decided that next year we will go to a different place and hotel.

Fabulous in Every way!
We have traveled extensively and been to many beautiful spots. This hotel is 5 stars all the way. Incredible attentive service. Gorgeous views... Beach and pool... Tennis and bocce. This place had it all. Definitely in our top 5 places in the world
