Hotel Don Pepe Gran Meliá

This iconic hotel in Marbella was a perfect base for two lovely weeks exploring this part of the beautiful Costa del Sol. Assiduously pleasant and accommodating staff, great location on the Paseo maritimo, and so many treats! Cava on ice, flowers, dessert wine and the hotel's own olive oil arrived unexpectedly. We had breakfast included, and went out for other meals. Local restaurants offered reasonably priced paella, seafood and other options, and the after dinner stroll by the sea was an enjoyable part of each day. January means no crowds, and for Canadians, the weather was wonderful. We could be outside most of the day, enjoying our own balcony or seating by the pool. The outdoor pool was cold, although some hardy guests did swim, but there's also a heated indoor pool.

Although it is quite a walk from the centre of Marbella, the situation of the hotel is exceptional. This luxurious hotel comes with his grandeur, impressive lobby, several restaurants and bars, immaculate gardens that are illuminated by night, a gym and of course several swimming pools. If you have a room with seaside view, you will be spending some quality time on a comfortable chair on your private terrace. Where you can enjoy the bottle of champagne which was graciously offered by the hotel. After a wonderful day your bed will send you straight to dreamland. A fully stuffed minibar and Nespresso machine are at your disposal and the staff will look after you to make sure you have everything you need. The bathroom is complete with a separate toilet, a shower and a bath. Hairdryer, toothbrush with toothpaste, a ver nice manual shaver, cottons, a sowing kit, soap, shampoo and salt for a relaxing bathtub experience are waiting for you , as are a bathrobe, slippers and a lot of towels. All mirrors and the tv are backlit. After a good night sleep, you can enjoy the most complete breakfast I have ever seen. Breakfast is served in a veranda overlooking the splendid gardens. And if you think that is the most important, wait till you have meet the numerous staff. They are everywhere, friendly, with a can do mentality. They are like angels in immaculate white uniforms and they will make your day, as they are ready to go to any length to make your stay more agreeable.

Don Pepe has the most wonderful garden in Marbella ! The personnel is of outstanding kindness. I recommend to ask for the Red Level upper floors. This opens the door to a dedicated area full of attentions. We've been at Gran Melia Don Pepe 5 times and plan to return.

We stayed in a sea view with “Red Level” facilities and had a super stay for 4 nights. The rooms are very good with nice facilities and a balcony looking out to sea. From check in through to departure, the staff were outstanding……Abel, Ruben, Sylvia, Isabel, Flores and Freya just to name a few. The position is great for walks along the seafront and access to bars and restaurants where you can people watch. Personal preference is the walk to Porto Banus. The pool area is clean and very well run and the whole hotel clean and well maintained. Super stay.

Our 3rd visit to this fabulous hotel. Red level was really useful especially as the weather was v poor, it helped to have a different refuge and drinks on tap to offer some cheer. Once again the hotel was totally fabulous, in all aspects.. the presentation, service, food (specially mentioned for the breakfasts). Also great to have indoor pool and spa facilities. No doubt we will return
