PROS - We were in the second block behind the main building and we really loved the room, it was really modern and well laid out - Room impeccably clean as always with Premier Inn - Powerful shower - And, it goes without saying, as always with Premier Inn, fantastic staff, where do they get them from? - Only a 10 min walk from the historic centre and right opposite a lovely beach so great for kids - Great value for money, especially if you book early. We booked on standard rate and got a great rate. Non refundable but you can move the dates if needed. Now for the CONS - I really hated that the windows won't open (why??). The room smelt fresh but I much prefer fresh air and could not understand why they couldn't be made to open. I would hesitate to stay in this hotel again for this reason. - Also bear in mind there is no lift so you have to drag your cases upstairs. I struggle with stairs and didn't think to ask for a ground floor room as I just assumed there would be a lift - never assume! Staff may well have moved us had we asked but we were so tired we didn't have the energy to go back down again and ask, especially as they had already moved us once due to the first room smelling of cigarette smoke (how selfish of the previous occupant) - The mattress protectors make me sweat at night. This is always the case with Premier Inn. I don't have this issue with Travelodge and again this does put me off this chain of hotels as they all seem to be like this. - No extra spare pillow - unusual for Premier Inn. Again, staff would probably have got one if we had asked but we could not face the stairs again after a long day walking round Margate. So I really liked the room but would struggle to stay again due to the window and mattress protector issues.
