Riad Timila

Service exemplary. Without a doubt, Michel & Ansa our hosts, went above and beyond in all they do. Our first time in a Riad ( "home" away from the chaos of Jemma al Fna )- Michel walks with every individual guest the route to take to the Square from Riad Timila. Without this - one could easily get lost amidst the labyrinth of crowded souk passage ways. Ansa gave us support and assistance in purchasing a Moroccan coffee table ( to be shipped ). Buyers beware - it is an arduous process of negotiation requiring 100% trust ! The Riad was complete with fabulous Moroccan arts and crafts . Remember, all Riads have steps to the different levels. Breakfast simple and wholesome, dining outside on the sunny rooftop. Dinner available on request which is very convenient after sightseeing all day. In addition, international guests were super interesting to share dinner with. It is important in Marrakech to take cash as many locations do not take credit cards. It’s a bit of a cliché to describe a riad as an “oasis”, but there is no better word I can think of. None more so than Riad Timila. From the deep plunge pool down in the courtyard to the sun-soaked top terrace, every corner of the spacious riad oozes calm and relaxation. Navigating the busy alleys and souks of Marrakesh is a frenetic, energising and - occasionally - exhausting experience. What a delight then, at the end of a busy day, to be able to retire to such a beautiful, comfortable, serene and spotlessly clean home away from home. The place is stunning, a perfect mix of traditional style and modern design. I particularly loved our huge en-suite bathroom: super-smart integrated sink and shower, facing a wall of beautiful antique wooden masks. The real highlight of the riad, though, are Brahim, Ismael, Hennia, and the other amazing staff. They were incredibly friendly, attentive and accommodating. We ended up eating most of our meals at the Riad and each one of them was an impressive feast. One of our party has a severe food allergy and they were extremely careful and reassuring. I’ve stayed in other riads in Marrakesh before, but none can quite compete with Timila. Quite possibly the best place I have ever stayed on any holiday, period.

A lovely 4 day stay made much more special by Timila staff. Simple and authentic Riad, with charming details everywhere you turn. The rooms were very clean, very good food, and the service was impeccable. Mouad made our stay special by catering to all our needs, always available with a smile and discretion. Merci Mouad.

We had the most lovely week staying at Riad Timila. Brahim was able to help us with all our needs. The rooms were very nice and extremely comfortable beds. We ended up eating most of our meals there as the food was extremely good. It was very quiet there at night and yet we were only an approximately 8 minute walk from the main square. There were 11 of us and all of us thought it was a great place and thoroughly recommend it.

This was my second visit to Riad Timila and it was even better than I had remembered! The Riad is decorated in an authentic style with gorgeous artwork and eclectic furnishings. It felt like staying in a palace! Communication with Victoria was very efficient and Brahim the house manager was also very quick in responding to me. We were able to arrange transfers to and from the airport and a guide all through the Riad. There are many trips you can organise with them depending on your stay. All rooms are each very individual in style and have very comfy beds, furnishings and amazing bathrooms. The dip pool is a great relief from the heat of the souks as is the terrace to catch a breeze and get a good view of the Koutoubia and the terracotta rooftops. At night from my favourite spot an the top most terrace u can see the smoke rising Ron the street food market in the main square. You will not regret staying here. Myself and my elderly uncle were looked after so well. Ismail was always on hand if we needed anything. Henia cooked an amazing spread at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Don’t hesitate to book this Riad, you will not regret it! It is an experience in itself right in the heart of the ancient and vibrant Médina.

Stayed here for a week away with friends. Unbelievably lush and breazy rooftop terrace and very friendly staff. Air con and pool are excellent ways of cooling off after a day exploring Marrakesh. Magnificent
