Lambert's Cove Inn & Resort

We first stayed at Lambert's Cove Inn 25 years ago. The Inn has changed hands multiple times and expanded since then, but it's remained a quiet, low key and charming place. We stayed in the Morning Glory Farm room, which is located in one of the newer barn structures. The room is tastefully decorated and private and has beautiful views of the woods and the Inn's alpacas. Breakfast is nice too, with fruit, yogurt and some delicious homemade cakes and breads. On the other hand, there are areas for improvement, and I don't think the other reviews are giving a complete picture of what guests can expect. To begin with, the Inn needs to do a better job with housekeeping. The room was not clean when we arrived (the area rug in particular had debris in it and clearly hadn't been vacuumed thoroughly) and had a strong and extremely unpleasant chemical odor, possibly from a room deodorizer. It was difficult to sleep the first night as a result, and while I appreciated the Inn giving the room a "deep clean" the following morning after we brought this to their attention, we never should have had to deal with the issue in the first place. A better run hotel would have offered its guests some compensation as well, as the first night of our stay was essentially ruined. Both the room and common areas are badly in need of a refresh. The bathroom has mold in and around the shower, a musty smell (perhaps that's what they were trying to mask with the room deodorizer?), and missing towel hooks. Some of the window screens are damaged or missing altogether. And in the common areas, much of the upholstery on the couches and chairs is stained and/or worn. I realize we were at the property at the end of the season, and there's been a lot of wear and tear that the owners may intend to address, but for the rates they are charging, they need to do better.

I booked this hotel for $900 for one night while traveling to Martha’s Vineyard for business. From start to finish, the experience was unacceptable. The hotel contacted me the day before to confirm my arrival time. I told them I would be landing at 11 a.m., but was informed my room would not be ready until 2 p.m. I had an important event to attend by 3:15, so I had to get ready at a friend’s hotel. To make matters worse, I was told there was no food on property until after 5 p.m. and no nearby restaurants, leaving me with no dining options during the day. After my event ended around 7 p.m., I texted the hotel to let them know I’d be arriving after 9 p.m. — no one ever responded. Their confirmation email stated that for late check-ins, a code would be provided for the side door and an envelope with keys would be left at the front desk. When I arrived at 1:30 a.m., both doors were wide open and unsecured (no code needed), and there was no envelope with keys waiting for me. At 2 a.m., I was stranded outside the hotel completely alone — the only person around was my Uber driver, who thankfully waited to make sure I was safe. With nowhere to stay, I ended up having to share a bed with my client at their nearby hotel. When I called and texted the next day requesting a refund, I didn’t even receive an apology. Instead, I was told they were busy with an event and that a groundskeeper would call me back. That call never came. It's been two weeks- I have not heard a word- much less an apology. This property is completely lacking in professionalism, customer service, and basic hospitality. I disputed the charge with American Express, but this entire experience shows how little the hotel values its guests. I would never stay here again and strongly advise others to avoid this property. There are far better, safer, and more reliable options on the island with better service-

Very well located if you are after greenery, gardens, and a quiet pool scene. Rooms are somewhat dated. But restaurant, breakfast and friendliness of the staff all made up for it. Recommend rooms with outdoor seating areas with screens. Some bugs in the evenings.

If you're looking for a lovely, warm, and relaxing retreat from which to explore the Vineyard, Lambert's Cove is a perfect choice. As a New Englander, it struck me as an ideal combination of the Cape and Vermont -- gentle countryside, gorgeous gardens, delightful ponds, and beautifully prepared, fresh local food offered with genuine hospitality. Enjoy your stay!

Lamberts Cove Inn was a tremendous experience. We stayed as part of a wedding May 24 to May 26, with all events taking place at the Inn. The rehearsal dinner in the garden offered wonderful food in a beautiful setting. The breakfast and lunch the next day offered many items baked at the inn, all delicious. The wedding ceremony in the garden was absolutely a beautiful setting. The reception near the llamas was a wonderfully unique experience with tasty appetizers. The most amazing experience was the reception. The food served, beginning with scallops over risotto and followed by roast duck (my spouse had swordfish) was beyond outstanding…Michelin star quality. All of this wonderful experience was delivered by Inn Keepers, Galin (also the executive chef) and Brigid (gardener/amazing florist) and their outstanding team who acted in various roles to make the experience of the guests exceptional!!! In addition, our accommodations were top rate in a great room all our comforts considered.

Beautiful and quaint. Back in the woods off the bustle of the island. Stayed in the main house which was brightly decorated with flowers. The staff was fantastic, especially Meredith! We loved the breakfast in the charming dining room. While the restaurant was still closed for the season, we could tell it would have been a spectacular experience.
