Drove past with partner on an afternoon out and stopped to enjoy a classic Sunday lunch at a very reasonable price. Surroundings pleasant, bar staff cheerful and helpful. Food good. Beer good. Gin line excellent. What’s not to like? Can’t speak for non-Sunday lunch menu, but would be very happy to eat there again.l

The menu is very small, the don’t have any sides. My friend ordered a gammon and they didn’t have that so there was even less to choice from. We all ordered the mushrooms for starters and they were delicious and then two of us had steak, one of them was Rare and the other was Medium, they were both incredibly tough and chewy one was very stringy and fatty. The Rare was more blue and the Medium was more well done, they just weren’t enjoyable and we left a lot. Really has gone down since it was ‘rebranded’ used to be a lot better

Me and my fiancé had our engagement party in the function room and the outside patio area, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We could not have asked for more! All of the staff were really friendly, accommodating and just brilliant all round, which made the day run so smoothly. We also stayed the night and the room was really lovely, tastefully decorated and really comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was also brilliant, a very good continental breakfast and I also had a bacon sandwich which was very tasty. Thank you so much again to the team at The Rodney for making our party so special. Would definitely recommend.

This stay was utterly superb in every way. Spotless and I do mean spotlessly clean throughout. Fantastic breakfast and comfy beds but the real jewels in the crown: the staff! Each and everyone was exceptional but I have to give an especial ‘shout out’ to Summer who was an absolute treasure and a credit to the establishment.

My group enjoyed a pre-booked dinner here after a strenuous walk in the nearby beautiful Teme Valley and were very impressed with the quality of the food and drink served by a friendly and efficient staff. No complaints at all from a group who aren't afraid of being critical! We look forward to returning.

We have passed this pub on many occasions and decided we would visit. We have been to The Baiting House which we believe is a sister establishment and is very good. The staff at the Admiral Rodney were lovely and friendly. However the food was very disappointing. Poor choice on the menu and not well cooked. We chose not to say anything to the staff as they are all nice people no doubt doing there best.

Ordered two drinks a pint of HPA and a juice , my Husband took pint back to bar as was cloudy , another was pulled still as cloudy so he then tried a pint of 1985 lager which was also cloudy , the worst pint of HPA he has ever had in any pub he has been in . Needless to say we will not be returning !! Awful beer ! Potholes on carpark too

We have stayed many times at the Rodney and have always been impressed. However this weekend was completely different. We arrived around lunchtime and had a drink and crisps. Rather shocked to discover the crisps were 3 months past their sell by date. Our room was in a modern chalet and was ok at best. It felt flimsy and the towels were threadbare. It was breakfast the following morning that shocked us. We were told that we could only have fried eggs. Scrambled were not possible. After a lot of negotiations we were told that boiled eggs were possible!! They arrived in a bowl ready pealed. Unbelievable. How can they not be capable of scrambling an egg.

Stayed for two nights with a group of car enthusiast. And a great weekend it was thanks to Dan and his staff. Excellent location, good accommodation, relaxed atmosphere, catered for all changes that you get from a mix of 20 people and excellent food for everyone served efficiently. Many of our group have asked to come back next year. It was a 5 Star stay but: I so wanted to give the hotel 5 Stars but the pre-booking and customer contact services are woeful. Various people in the group contacted the hotel with queries and changes and were regularly faced with answerphone messages which were not responded to. We had one couple wanted to stay an extra night and could not raise anyone to make the booking. One couple had to cancel but could not get anyone to pick up the phone or respond to messages. If a manager/owner reads this, your excellent staff deserve better than this. They all worked so hard to make our stay so enjoyable but there jobs are at risk if you cannot sort out your customer contact services at the front end.
