The room and bathroom are a good size. I liked the fact the room had heating. Breakfast buffet was OK with a good choice of fruit, cereal, breads, and cooked foods. The room is incredibly noisy from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily as there's a ridiculous aircon unit or something above the bathroom, and it vrooms away like a jet engine all day long. The bathroom door doesn't even shut to reduce the noise a bit. Reception sent an engineer who said it was normal, and nothing could be done. After more than 1 night, they sent an email asking about the stay and asked how I'd prefer to be contacted. I ticked send message to phone and gave my WhatsApp number. I deliberately DIDN'T choose call my phone or call my room. So what did they do? Yep, called both umpteen times because I'd complained about their lousy hotel. I was working so didn't answer. They finally sent a message indicating I could change room. A bit late for that given I only had a few hours left! Funny how it was fixable because I gave a lousy review. The food, apart from breakfast, was truly atrocious. I've never been offered such an appalling cheese sandwich anywhere in the world, let alone a costly hotel, and it was served with tepid chips. The second day, I asked a waiter what was in the bun-like things in the cafe. He shrugged, screwed his face up, looked like he didn't care, and for sure wasn't interested enough to find out, then said maybe currants. Does nobody train these people? And the absolute killer was I ended up with horrific food poisoning which meant I had to cancel half the tour I had paid for. For two days I'd only eaten Avani food and drunk bottled water, so something they made there was dire. I've stayed in other hotels by this chain (Anantara and NH) and they're hundreds of times better.
