Banglow is situated at an exclusive, beautiful location, and the owner of the property seems to be neglecting the place while charging an exorbitant price for very poor service. We stayed in the family room with 4 beds, its windows are decayed and falling apart and can not be closed. The door lock is totally worn out, and keep on banging with the wind. Big bathroom got black fungi on walls and bit smelly. Poor maintained from the garden got cow 💩 dung droppings on passages, and they're not getting removed. Part of the front varender is covered with bird 💩 poo and accumulating without removal. Banglow staff seems to be untrained or underpaid to neglect maintenance. Lunch was fresh local rice and curries. But dinner wasn't much good.

We were based at Sir John's bungalow which gave us easy access to almost all locations to explore Matale. The breathtaking view from the bungalow with the warm hospitality extended by the staff and delicious food made our stay so comfortable and memorable.

We had a fantastic couple of days at Sir John's Bungalow. The staff were genuinely welcoming, our room had everything we needed and the views were gorgeous. The food was delicious and the setting was lovely - breakfast on the veranda with sweeping views and dinner in the candle-lit dining room. A really great stay - would highly recommend.

It is a very scenic hotel with misty conditions. If you're planning to visit Riverston, you need to stay here and head out early in the morning. Tasty food and very helpful staff.Make sure to reserve early. You will experience our traditional house. Very close to Riverston as well.

We went to Sir John's bungalow, Riverston, with a travelling group. I would not recommend it to anyone. The entrance from the car park is in the dark with steps going down on a wet corridor. There were plenty of leeches there. The worst experience was that the bedsheets were all wet so we had to sleep without any. Apparently this was due to the mist in the air but we are not convinced. Also there is no electricity at night, so if you need to get up for anything you have to fumble in the dark. The staff were very obliging and pleasant. The food was average but plentiful. The one thing in its favour is the stunning views of the mountain ranges.

Sir. John's occupies one of the best sites in Riverston. The surroundings are a part of the nature reserve and the environment there is soo pristine and clean. The staff was very nice and extremely prompt in their service. They often went out of their way to help our requests. They dished out some great delicacies, both Sri Lankan and Western. We felt pampered in their bungalow.

This is the second time we have been there. While not much has changed the service has certainly improved. The room were clean and cozy! The food was exceptional, considering they are are 30kms away from town they had everything we needed. Cudos to Nadeera and the crew! Awesome !

Sir Johns Bungalow is our ‘go-to place’ in Riverston. The staff is super friendly and the food is amazing. They all went above and beyond to ensure we feel quite at home. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and looking forward to visiting again.

Had a very a lovely stay at the bungalow.. the unending views of the landscapes and rich ambience of the knuckles reserve was a breaktaking experience.. would recommend more anyone who wishes to be rid of the hustle bustle of city and have a peaceful time
