JR松江駅から大橋川を渡った橋北エリアにあります。松江城から近く、小泉八雲記念館などの観光名所も散歩がてらに歩けます。こちらのホテルは公立学校の教員の共済組合の施設ですが、一般の方でも利用できます。建物は古いですが比較的清潔に保たれていて、また大変リーズナブルに利用できますが、民間のビジネスホテルより快適です。朝食バイキング付きのプランですが宍道湖のシジミ汁や出雲そば、野焼き、あかてんなど島根の郷土料理がたっぷり美味しく味わえます。オリジナルの海苔も美味しかったです。利用していませんがランチバイキングも市民に人気の様です。30年以上前まではホテル周辺は、百貨店を中心とした松江の北側の商業エリアのひとつでしたが、そのデパートは駅前に移転し、また郊外に大型スーパーや商業施設等ができて、昔から市内にあった商店街はいずれもシャッター通りの様になりました。そのデパートも閉店してしまいました。寂しいです。
