The hotel is a very normal Japanese-style B&B. The proprietress was very kind and told me what activities there were in Matsuyama. She also gave me a map to tell me where to go for fun. The inn feels old, but the room was neat and tidy. The bath and toilet are separate. You need to call before using the hot water supply to have it turned on. Apparently it's to conserve energy as utility bills have risen sharply. I asked the lady a lot of questions and she explained them to me. I'm sure some people will love it and others will hate it.
