Chestnut Country Lodge

Fantastic service, location and facitilities. The room has a nice bed, good bathroom and is big. Breakfast is good with enough choices. When we come back in the future, we will book the same accommodation.

As we had to visit Kruger National Park, we wanted to stay in a lodge close to the park and hence we chose Chestnut Country Lodge. We fell in love with the lodge, the moment we stepped into the place. The scenic view is breathtakingly beautiful and the rooms are tastefully done. The rooms have a classic and vintage vibe. They don't have television set, but that's completely okay as I don't watch much of the Telly. But their wifi is very weak. We loved their home style breakfast, but wish they had more variety. The dinner was just awesome. The hospitality, rooms and service was fabulous. This is one place I would love to come back.

We (Dad and teenage son) were on a tour of South Africa and spent one night with the tour group at this really wonderful establishment, run by a nice lady originally from South Australia (but she's been in South Africa for many years). The rooms were great - spaceous and very comfortable. There was a brilliant home-cooked breakfast (made to order and a wide choice) in the airy dining area. There is a sunny deck around the pool and a cosy bar area. The staff were fabulous - so helpful, and they couldn't do enough for us after a long day on the road - carrying bags to the rooms, ensuring that everyone was settled, making sure people had adaptors to charge camera batteries, etc. I would definitely recomend this as a pleasant place to stay if you're in the area (God's window, Shangana village, Blythe River Canyon, and Bourke's luck potholes are within reach).

Having spent a very enjoyable, all to short holiday based at Chestnut Lodge a couple of weeks ago, I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone visiting the area. The views are stunning, the rooms comfortable and well appointed, and the food very good and varied, mostly sourced from fresh local produce. Christine and her staff were all very friendly and helpful, and I was sorry not to be able to stay longer than six days! The lodge is a very good base for visiting Kruger National Park and other attractions, although, as there is no public transport trips and excursions have either to be booked in advance, or from the lodge on arrival. Possibly the only (slight) drawback is the unmade access road to the property

Beautiful place, the service was great and staff members super friendly and helpful. The views from the lodge are literally paradise views.

The service at this lodge is top notch,we had a great time. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are neat and the bathroom is big enough.it was my first time and I will definitely come back. Nice view. Their food are also delicious.
