I had a wonderful stay at the Barahi Jungle Lodge, Meghauli, Chitwan National Park. I'd definitely count this among my most favourite resorts. The Barahi Jungle Lodge is located by the banks of the Rapti river, opposite Chitwan National Park. Naturally, one gets a beautiful view of the river and the grasslands from this lodge. Another great property of this area, Taj Meghauli Sarai is situated adjacent to the Barahi Jungle Lodge. First of all, the resort staff is exceptionally good. Everyone exuded natural warmth and gave genuine smiles. They give a lot of personal attention to each guest. The check-in procedure was smooth and since I had reached Chitwan quite late in the evening, I also discussed my safari and boat ride plans before going to the room. The staff patiently explained all the activities, as well as the facilities the lodge offers. The lodge employs a team of knowledgeable naturalists, with each guest being assigned a dedicated naturalist to manage safari plans and ensure a seamless experience. I was fortunate to have Rajesh as my naturalist. He was not only present during my check-in but also guided both the jeep safari and boat ride the following day. I would highly recommend the jungle safari, which is organized by the lodge itself. It starts with a short boat ride to cross the river, after which you board the jeep. I took the half-day safari. It was definitely worthwhile! Thanks to Rajesh, I was able to spot at least 6–7 rhinos. In fact, we spotted the first rhino barely 2–3 minutes into the safari. However, the highlight was the jungle breakfast. At some point during the safari, they park the jeep in a quiet spot and lay down the food. Having breakfast while witnessing the sights and sounds of the forest is an experience! The sunset boat ride was a wonderful experience. I was the only person on the boat that day, and with no other boats on the river, it felt like a truly private and peaceful moment. I had the opportunity to spot several birds and gharials along the way. After about an hour, the boat was anchored near the bank, and I was served snacks and drinks, all while watching the sun set in the background! Talking about the accommodation, one gets to stay in small private huts. A stoop leads to the hut. Each hut is spacious and artistically designed. There is a spacious bathroom with a lovely tub as well as a small balcony. The huts have all the necessary amenities. I would like to thank the housekeeping team for their kind gestures such as keeping rubber hot water bottle in the bed. In fact the entire hotel team excels in these small things. For example, they promptly bring you warm face towels when you return from a jeep or boat safari. The food served at their restaurants was good, and the service was very professional. I'd particularly like to mention the name of Sanjana, who was particularly kind. In the evening, a Tharu cultural performance was organized by the riverside. Witnessing the performance next t

We had the pleasure to spend two nights at the Barahi jungle lodge on the banks of East Rapti River in Nepal. Already at Bharatpur airport we were welcomed by the lodge‘s pick-up service in person of most amiable Rajesh, who should turn out to be our naturalist guide for the whole stay. The Head-manager himself gave us a warm welcome and introduction into the lodge. We were impressed by the careful sustainability efforts in combination with a five star accomodation with all modern facilities close to the jungle. The staff was most caring, polite and attentive in all functions. The highlights of course were the Jeep Safari, Jungle walk and boat safari in the early morning in the park. Across the shallow Rapti river pick-up point is reached with a boat directly from the lodge. Safari jeeps wating for half or full-day trips. Driver and our guide Rajesh did a terrific job in showing vegetation and all wildlife Chitwan had to offer on that day including a stylish jungle tea/coffee with pastry. Deer, boars, bears, rhinos, monkeys, elefants are just the bigger animals, not speaking of peacocks and many other exotic birds. Safety was always key and we felt always secure and in best hands, either on the car or by foot during jungle walk. Both activities give a very good impression of the park‘s environment. Arriving from the trip with dust and sweat Barahi staff was waiting with refreshment towels and fresh water. A boat trip in the early morning on the calm Rapti river gave wonderful sight on birdlife and bigger animals crossing or bathing in the river. Dinner followed after a presentation of regional cultural dance with excellent cuisine listening to the sounds of the jungle by the pool. Coffee, tea, water was complementary all time with high-speed WiFi. Our bungalow met all expectations with enormous comfort. Wow, this was top Nepali hoapitality

We had an amazing time at Barahi Jungle Lodge. The room was beautiful with an amazing view. People were very friendly and they were always ready to help with a big smile. We felt truly special. Our guide Sagar took our safari experience to another level. He put so much effort into helping us find animals and shared so much knowledge with us. Ps: Lemon grass drink was an addiction.

Jungle lodge is probably the best place I have stayed. You can feel how much they care in every single detail. From the perfect room to the delicious dinners. The activities are amazing. We loved the Jeep Safari so much that we had to do it again. We also recommend the boat safari (if you can, do it during the sunrise and during the sundowner, it is completely different vibes). Our naturalist, Sagar, made our trip even more special by teaching us about the jungle and it animals. If you can, ask for him! He is so passionate about his work that it will contagious you with that energy. Regarding the wild life, the only thing we missed was a tiger. However we saw so many rhinos that we had to get one of their wooden rhinos souvenir. I can’t recommend it enough. Stay here and you will have the time of your life.

My family of 4 adults and a friend stayed here for 2 nights and had an amazing experience. Extremely luxurious. Great staff, outstanding food, great game drives, boat ride, and walking safari trek. We saw tons of wildlife, and had a variety of different dining experiences. The boat ride, poled down river in wide wood canoes ended in a superb sundowner complete with a beautiful sundown!

10/10 Here I am, travelling solo to Barahi Jungle Lodge, but not once did I worry about being by myself. The Safaris exceeded my expectations, and all the staff, especially my guide Sudikshya were outstanding. Sudikshaya was very informative and knew everything about the birds we saw, the wildlife we encountered, and all the insects plus vegetation. I was very impressed with her knowledge. The food was delicious, and I gave the Margarita a 10/10. That's how good it was. The view from the lodge was beautiful. I can't wait to return, and I definitely recommend 2-3 nights. Barathi jungle lodge is a luxurious way to see the splendour of Nepal's Chitwan national park in an ecologically friendly way that also supports the local community. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the local safari guides on both the river cruise and jeep safari are so knowledgeable and have such good eyesight! Our guide Rajiv spotted a tiger pawprint whilst we were speeding down a dirt track at 30mph! A special shout out to Bikash Rana Magar who was so attentive and helpful during our stay and always made sure I had a beer at the evening local dance shows(!) the rooms are gorgoeus; steaming hot showers, filtered coffee, crisp bedding and even a hot water bottle tucked in at turn down (we were here january 2025 when there is a chill at night). Each room also has a private balcony overlooking the national park to try and see some wildlife over a coffee. Otherwise, teas, cappuccinos and espressos are all included and available at barista. The food was fantasic with bugfet for breakfast, lunch and dinner which staff member Tej oversaw. On the final night we also had a dinner outside surrounded by candles and fires. Beautiful.
