The hotel is central. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and fresh. The beds are ver comfortable, and they even offered us a variety of different pillows. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. Friendly and helpful staff. We were there to hike, but there were skiers in the hotel, who could take the free ski bus to the lift.

Had a more than pleasant stay at Hotel Dakota, a stylish alpine hotel, which is centrally located. The rooms are spacious, sparkling clean and the furniture is very well chosen. We slept like babies in those comfortable beds! Also, the staff is very happy to help you with your requests. Would recommend it anytime!

I recently stayed at Hotel Dakota and had an amazing experience. The staff was welcoming, the room was spacious and clean, and the views were breathtaking. The facilities were exceptional. The highlight was the delicious food at the hotel restaurant. Highly recommend Hotel Dakota for a memorable stay!

Very warm welcome. The hotel corresponds to the description and pictures. Beautiful, clean room and bathroom. A large and comfortable bed and the requested ergonomic extra pillow was also there. For my dog, there was a dog bed, water bowl, and a welcome treat. And there was even an extra door tag that there was a dog in the room. Very convenient if you want to leave the dog in the room for a short time. The breakfast buffet offers a wide selection from scrambled eggs and bacon to cold cuts, salmon and various cheeses, fresh fruit salad and freshly squeezed orange juice, just to name a few, because there was so much more. I would especially like to mention the exceptionally attentive staff at breakfast who, after telling them my room number, presented me with a variety of choices of lactose-free and plant-based milk and yogurt - a preference I could also choose before arrival. Overall, an exceptional stay and highly recommended!

Friendly staff at the reception, okayish at the breakfast (maybe a language issue? replying "What?" to a customer politely calling isn't the appropriate answer!). None of them speak French. The room looked really nice, was well equipped and on the back street so quiet as well. The bed was comfortable, water kettle & tea available in the room. Travelling with our dog, I had checked before if he was allowed and nowhere was it written that there was an extra fee and the confirmation didn't mention this either despite announcing that we were with one in the comment box. On the + side, comfortable dog bed, bowl and treat was ready in the room, which was a really nice touch. Also a fee for the underground garage, mentioned nowhere. Warning: parking spots are narrow, we have a mid-size car which barely fit, so if you have an SUV or large car you may want to park in the street (free at night). Breakfast had a good choice, fresh pressed orange juice machine, quite varied choice. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but it is in the center of the village which has many options literally a few steps away, so absolutely not an issue.

After a hike, we spontaneously booked a room at the Dakota. The hotel is ideally located within a three-minute walk of Meiringen train station. Check-in was very quick and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The superior double room we booked was comfortable and the furnishings were well coordinated. The coffee machine didn't work and the kettle's cable is far too short, so you really have to try a few things to get it to work. Hopefully this is better solved in the other rooms! The box spring bed was extremely comfortable and we slept well. The sanitary area was rather small but everything you need was there. Unfortunately, the radiator for drying the bath and hand towels didn't work. The Hotel Dakota was renovated in 2020. Now that everything is still fairly "new", you can't see it yet...but defects are already becoming visible here and there, which is a real shame. Examples: the radiators mentioned, then the skirting boards, the water damage to the bathroom doors, which seem to be caused by the poorly thought-out shower trays in the small bathroom. There are a few more details... The breakfast buffet was OK. However, the selection was rather poor for a four-star hotel. We thought the option of freshly squeezed orange juice was very good! We found the staff at the Hotel Dakota very nice. We only had good experiences in the breakfast area and at reception. Once again we thought, what would the Swiss hotel industry do without foreign staff. Conclusion: A beautiful hotel, in a good but quiet location, comfortable rooms, very nice staff. For us, that outweighs the few points of criticism mentioned. We would stay here again and can recommend the Hotel Dakota!
