There was a fire training first. Breakfast is very good. The 201 room was adjacent to the pool and there was not much privacy. The smile of the staff 々 was great.
I spent the first week in January here and went on to book three more weeks. There were a few problems in the second week but this was quickly sorted out by Trip.com and I enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was fantastic. The junior suite was lovely with views of the city and the sea. The spa and pool section downstairs was a dream to use each time. A bus stop is right beside the hotel for getting out. Malta is easy to navigate once you get your bus pass at a shop up the road virtually opposite the hotel. The Hotel restaurant is great. Some places around the hotel also serve good food. Try the sandwiches at the “homemade” shop. The salmon salad and the salmon wrap are delicious. Mellieha is the northernmost part of Malta so it takes time getting to other places. Helpful to plan journeys with the bus schedule online if using public transport.
The hotel is not yet completed, the sounds of construction are not annoying or disturbing. The rooms are simply gorgeous. Simple and tasteful. Spacious. We had a room with a kitchen. Two rooms. Hall and bedroom. One separate toilet and bath. Another one is right in the bedroom, but with a shower.
The location is only three stars. The reason is there is nothing in the area. But I think that when the hotel is ready there will be more animation and there will be something to do in the hotel.
The service is not bad. No comments, but without much desire. Therefore minus a star.
Breakfast was included in the price. The selection is not huge, but quite enough.
Stay 2 nights, everyone! Figure 6 (the room looks outside) is a sea-view room, just from the angle of the swimming pool. Hehe, when his sea view room is ready.
From the airport to the hotel you can take a bus x1, 1,5 euros but every hour, far from the airport. A taxi from the airport is 37 Euros (40 minutes), and there is a dedicated counter for buying at the airport. The hotel has four restaurants, one Italian restaurant, (Figure 4-5) one Lebanese, and one (1-2) one is the place to eat breakfast. Breakfast has many varieties, and you can also buffet for 26 Euros in the evening. Many buses can go anywhere. The hotel is close to the ferry to gozo, 10 minutes walk, few minutes by bus. The hotel has indoor and outdoor swimming pools (see Figure 6). The indoors are not very good, and there are spas that are not good. There are no shopping malls around the hotel, so take a bus to mehddina, where there is a cathedral. There are no restaurants in the surroundings, and only hotels can solve it at night. There are resident singers and English songs on the second floor at night (I feel like a four-star hotel in Shanghai in the 1990s). Older couples and foreigners dance and entertain themselves. Many elderly people. There is also an activity room on the second floor, with billiards and table tennis.
Excellent hotel, situated in one of the most scenic locations of n Malta. It is close to the main beaches and to the villages of St Paul’s Bay and Mellieha!
Location great for a trip to the other two islands otherwise far away from any other sights
Little bit dissatisfied with the view of the room. I booked „sea view“ and it was barely sea view.
Breakfast was also only okay… not that many choices and loud restaurant
Great location if like near beach with bus stops 2 minutes walk from hotel. Nice walk (long 4km and uphill) along the beach and up past the red tower with great views of Gozo to the north and lovely coastline to south. The hotel has warm indoor pool beautiful rooftop pool (little windy at the moment but good view across bay and up to well lit church. Great bar downstairs good deals also. Friendly staff throughout the hotel. Meals good at reasonable prices (cheaper than outside restaurant). Gym has easy to use equipment for a good workout. Room was well equipped and clean, my only con was TV was a little small and selection of channels was minimal. Highly recommend. Will go back again

GGuest UserAn enjoyable weekend break at Solana. The place is well positioned in the center of Mellieha to explore the town, v. nice view from the rooftop (attached a pic) that they also highlight as instagram-worthy. I rated the location 4/5 because of the relatively minor difficulty to find close-by parking as you need to be careful due to limited hours, but I learnt after that the hotel offers limited parking spots against payment. Cleanliness and service both rated an excellent 5/5. The facilities were good, again they didn't merit a 5/5 only because of a couple of small issues: you can experience a relatively long wait for the 2 lifts (used by guests and staff) at peak times since the hotel consists of two connected buildings, the gym needs a spruce-up as the multi-use machine needs a good oiling and the treadmill's arm cushions easily came unstuck, and the rooftop pool water was slightly murky on Sat afternoon and Sun morning. Other than our studio apartment was a comfortable fit for a family of 4, that included a well-equipped kitchenette that we used on the second night when the kids fancied an evening in after a long day. And nice to see once again the old-school complimentary sewing needle and thread, as well as a good sized bathtub. Tea and coffee freebies were present in abundance in the room. Breakfast was delicious and they certainly got the bacon, sausages, eggs, pastry and yogurt right.
All in all, a well-priced worthy consideration if you're staying in Mellieha.
