Hotel Nia, Autograph Collection

I stayed at the Nia for a week on a business trip. I was expecting a superb experience based on the price tag, but found it wanting. Everything looks nice enough, but many things that I would expect to see in a hotel of this caliber are missing. For example, I noticed when going to sleep the first night that all four pillows on my bed were of the same kind - an enormous (not fluffy, just huge) synthetic one. I tried to make it work, but knew my neck would hurt for days if I attempted to sleep on it. I went down to the front desk and needed to have a long discussion with the staff about getting a different kind of pillow (they told me that housekeeping was gone for the day and they didn't have access to the linen closet, which seems like a terrible setup). Finally, they checked and were able to get down pillows for me, and told me I should've requested them when checking in. In my experience, nice hotels include a variety of pillows in the room by default, so I've never had to do this before and didn't expect to need to this time. Secondly, the reason I needed to go down to the front desk in the first place is that of the two phones in the room, neither seemed to work (though both were connected to power and seemed to be on). This also made it challenging to order room service the one night I wanted tea and dessert. There's a QR code they ask you to scan to see room service information, but it just took me to the hotel website, which didn't make it clear which menu(s) were available for room service. If there were an easier ordering experience (e.g. a dedicated tablet in the room) that didn't require me to call anyone, I would've used room service more. Finally, there were small touches that degraded my experience further - no robe or slippers in the room, and a Keurig machine for coffee and tea. The coffee was okay, but for some reason, the pods I got were always decaf (maybe they had run out of regular coffee?) The tea that comes from a Keurig is always a joke, so I would rather have seen a variety of coffee than useless tea pods. And quality aside, Keurig pods are a sustainability disaster. Given the daily room rate, I hope that I will see a Nespresso machine in my room next time. On the plus side, I found the room to be pretty quiet, and after I got a pillow upgrade, had many good nights of sleep. If you temper your expectations, Nia is a satisfactory hotel.

The hotel is on the side of the road. It is a bit noisy and not serious. If you are tired, it will not prevent you from falling asleep. Very close to Stanford. Motel parking is certainly not a problem. As a chain brand motel, the hardware is very good, the room is big and hot enough!

Traveling with kids. Look no place else if you can afford. Super kids friendly hotel. We were traveling with infant and they had setup not just cot but toys and baby bath tub.very thoughtful.
Residence Inn Palo Alto Menlo Park

The hotel is very close to Stanford. The rooms, services, facilities, and parking are all good. However, there are trains passing by, and the frequency is relatively high, and there will be some noise interference. If you want to go to Stanford Silicon Valley, this place is recommended as a place to stay!
Global Luxury Suites in Menlo Park

I stayed at a one bedroom apartment for 3 weeks in February for a business trip. Overall, I had a good experience and so let me summarise the pros and cons: PROs - You have got all the comforts of being in an apartment, kitchen, appliances, TVs, bedroom, living room at a decent price considering the location - The amenities are nice. Nice resident room and a decent size gym open 24/7 which is the main reason why I booked this apartment. CONs - Location is remote and detached from anything. You will need a car to move anywhere - Paper-thin walls. At night, I would constantly hear someone working with Asia on Zoom calls non-stop (from midnight until 3/4am). It was like having them in my room - Some of the shared room, like the gaming room, are completely left unrepaired and kind of broken. Majority of games didnt work or half working. - Kitchen cutlery could be much better. Had to ask for frying pan and few other stuff since I had the bare minimum and couldnt really cook All in all, I am happy and I would go again just because it has one of the best gyms I could find in the area which is open 24/7.
Hotel Lucent
4.2/598 Reviews
The style of Lucent Hotel fits well with Silicon Valley and the decor is completely modern. Going in is a yard as a parking lot. There is one of the smallest open-air swimming pools in the hotel I have seen on the patio. It can only accommodate one person. If it is more than a few baths. There are sofas and bonfires on the side, very warm. The lady at the reception was very enthusiastic and helped us to take the baggage to the room and introduce the room items. The room is small but clean. Compared to the Express Hotel, the breakfast is full and delicious. Although the hot meal is only Western-style scrambled eggs and fried bacon, it is delicious. Juice, yoghurt, coffee, mineral water are all available, as well as post-meal fruits.
