Hamilton Court

We went to this hotel exactly a year ago and we gave a glowing, well deserved 5*review. Wow what a difference a year makes and so much more for the worst! We wont be going again The room - which should have been better as we had a balcony this year, was absurd. The toilet was positioned so the only way you could sit on it was sideways as it was under the basin! Ridiculous see photos The shower was dirty and wasn't cleaned the whole week, This I tested by leaving a small bar of soap on the floor - it wasn't moved once see photo This year the reception staff were miserable, basically unhelpful and just didn't look as though they enjoyed the job at all The food last year was excellent with quality and choice - this year the quality was pretty awful and the choice reduced enormously. Maybe they have changed the chefs and not for the better There were however NO flies and none last year The hotel public areas were just as clean as last year with no complaints. The location is lovely. The hotel is right on the beach. Santo Tomas is a very quiet little place with a few hotels and a couple of shops - this suited us fine but if you are under 50 this really isn't the place for you unless you use it just as a base We love the fact there is no blaring music around the pool and are left very much to get on with it. The girl from the animation day team was really good fun, and my husband enjoyed the various games on offer, but there was no pressure to join in if you just want to be left with a book in the sun relaxing. We never went to any evening entertainment, but others commented it was generally poor I presume we went when the hotel is quieter with no mad brits up at 6.00 to grab a sunbed. Yes the "so called" best positioned ones were reserved before 7.00 but for those that couldn't care less what the position of the sun was at every compass point during the day, there were plenty comfortable beds to be had well after 9.00 It is such a shame that the standard (cleanliness) of room/food/staff have gone down hill so fast in a year, but as others said this is nowhere near a 4* hotel. We had also stayed in a Globales hotel in July in Spain and this was of poor standard as well, so i'm afraid we will be avoiding any in the future

Excellent location, right next to the beach. Reception staff were really helpful. The apartment was really nice. Was very clean and had everything we needed. Was cleaned and serviced twice whilst we were there. The facilities were excellent as well

Everyone considering you well except the italian guy at the reception. The italian guy at the reception behaves and treats you (if you are not italian nationality) unreasonablly different and worse in comparison of italian guests. For orther I do not have any complaints.

All was excellent apart from the wifi which was weak. The food was particularly good for variety, choice and quality.

Food was terrible ate out the whole holiday but the hotel and staff was very welcoming especially cintia the entertainer who made us feel very welcome

Very small hotel but spotlessly clean. Food was good for us but not always very warm. If you want to get a sunbed you will need to be out at the crack of dawn as by the time we came down there were towels on every sunbed and most days they went off and didn’t come back till after lunch! We did complain but were told they could do nothing about it! We ended up going to the beautiful beach every day but it cost us €21 a day for 2 beds a a parasol! There is nothing there other than two mini markets and one bar that we found so you are more or less confined to the hotel, but it was very quiet and relaxing! Entertainment was ok. Not a four star in our opinion!
