AluaSoul Menorca - Adults Only

We had a funeral and had to change our check in date. After 32 calls with no answer we have presented ourselves at the hotel. Important note: We've paid in advance the full reservation. The hotel and trip.com didn't inform about the no show policy and when we apperead at the hotel we didn't have a room. The team was super rude and didn't help us at hotel. They left the reception, closed themselves in one room and didn't even attend our requests to get some support. When accessing trip page, booking page and the hotel page, there were rooms available so we requested again the team support. The reply from Alejandra, the recepcionist that was in the front desk, was that we have nothing to do with their reservation policy. We've called the reservation central and when the phone was in speaker mode the lady from the group even told 'you are trying to fool them, why don't you give them a room?' We are demanding to get our money back or credit from the 3 nights we've showed up and they didn't provide a room.

We arrived to be told the room wouldn't be ready until 3pm. We returned to find the room was not the twin we had booked. After a delay a room was found on the ground floor, even though we had booked a balcony. Please note there are steps throughout hotel that was not mentioned. We counted from reception over 20 stone steps to get to our room which was many split levels. The room was kept clean throughout stay. The pool is stunning with sunbeds but you need to pay to use as they don't belong to the hotel. The pool area for hotel is actually the kiddie pool so we were told by those who were returning for a stst and were surprised by the changes. After a chance conversation we found we could use facilities at the sister hotel up the road. Saved the holiday as there was no real entertainment or shops, restaurants near our hotel only two small supermarket and locals restaurant. Another chance conversation told us of local bus that takes you to capital Mahon for 1.80 euros. Well worth doing a beautiful city. Poor value for money due to unexpected costs. Mosquitoes attacked prob due to time of year.

My partner and I have just returned from a week’s holiday at AluaSoul Menorca. We were after a peaceful, relaxing break and that is exactly what we got. There are many positives about this hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Food - There is one main restaurant in the hotel which you use for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is of good quality with plenty of choice. You can also eat in the Puro Beach restaurant which is also very good. This is not included as it’s not part of the hotel, however you can request 10% discount off your bill. Staff - Extremely polite and efficient, we were never waiting long to be served and they always had a smile on their face. Pool area - There are two pools, one is for the hotel guests and one is for Puro Beach. You can easily get a sun lounger around the hotel pool and do not have to wake up early to reserve. There is a bar at the pool area which serves cold & hot drinks and snacks throughout the day. The young girls behind the bar were great, working long hours but always smiling. Snacks included yoghurts, pastries, mini pizzas, chips & sushi. Room - We stayed in a standard double room. Our room was spacious and kept very clean by the staff. Good air conditioning. Mini bar to keep refreshments in. Location - There are a few supermarkets in S’Algar and a bar called Dinky’s around 200 yards from the hotel (this is not included in all inclusive). Car hire service is available. The hotel has a free taxi service that can take you to Punta Prima which has a few restaurants and shops. We went for 2 hours which was more than enough time. If you fancied a change of scenery from the buffet restaurant, we would recommend going here for a nice meal and drinks. Entertainment - There is entertainment on most nights either at the hotel or at Dinky’s. There are a few areas for improvement, such as * As an all inclusive, there should be drinks provided in the mini fridge in the rooms (even if this is just bottled water) * Quality of the cocktails weren’t the best - watered down * Music at the pool area - very repetitive. Same handful of songs on repeat every day. This is an easy fix, and has been mentioned by a few people on trip advisor. We would recommend bringing headphones. * Sun loungers - 90% of the beds around the Puro Beach pool have reserved signs on them incase any locals want to pay for them. However, most of the time these are never used. Guests of the hotel can only use the unreserved beds * Chairs in the bar area - the chairs on the terrace are uncomfortable when you’re wanting to relax on an evening Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. It’s the most relaxed we’ve both felt on holiday mainly because of how peaceful it is. If you’re after a very quiet week away, and aren’t bothered about being busy/having plans every day, then this hotel would suit you.

Nice hotel, good room. Limited selection in the one restaurant. Two pool over the road from the hotel, only the one furthest away is included in the all-inclusive. The nicer pool is very expensive for loungers, and the restaurant isn't included in the all inclusive. Not really for me, and wouldn't go again.

Adult only hotel which was quiet, probably too quiet for us. The local area is dead, 2 supermarkets and 2 restaurants. you can have a walk around the streets of an evening and see nobody. room as expected, bathroom and bedroom, cleaned daily, nothing exceptional but AC very good. mosquitos everywhere, maybe the time of year? Restaurant typical buffet, food never very hot and cold plates. Hotel bar doesn't open until 5pm, you have to get a drink by the pool Staff friendly enough. all inclusive package as expected. My complaints: no hand sanitizer in the restaurant. I was told I could wash my hands in the toilet downstairs. I said it's not my hands I am worried about it's everyone else's, reception shrugged when I mentioned it. Pool area is across the road and owned by another company. The adult only hotel pool area is tucked around the corner and is poor compared to the part open to the public but you can use the public part but lots of beds are reserved. Don't know what it would be like in mid season. All inclusive guests must use a tiny kiosk for drinks not the lovely main bar. Really felt like 2nd class citizens 3pm a DJ arrives and plays awful loud thumping music not in keeping with trying to relax around the pool. I complained and was told the private company could do what they like but when you book the hotel the pool is part of it? There is a bar on the grounds of the hotel called Dinky's which we were encouraged to visit by the entertainment team (only time we saw them as they worked up the road at another hotel) but although it is on the grounds and staffed by the same hotel bar staff the drinks did not come as part of the all inclusive package. how does that work? The gym and sports facility's are at another ALUA hotel up the road which we could use but again would have to buy a drink? Good points, the pool beds were very comfortable.

Great stay clean rooms friendly and helpful staff . Pool bar puts was lovely and good service. Restaurant staff very good.
