AAdam23We had a great experience staying at this hotel! Although it's rated as a three-star property, keep in mind that it’s three stars in Venice—which is definitely not the same as a three-star elsewhere. The charm and quality here exceeded our expectations. You won’t find a lot of reviews about this hotel, but I did come across a YouTube vlog by a mother who shared her family stay here. She said it was a really good choice—and she turned out to be absolutely right! We booked a Prestige Room with Canal View and specifically requested Room 101, which we saw on TikTok or YouTube (can't recall exactly where). The photos already impressed us, but the reality was even better. The ceiling was much higher than expected, which gave the room a beautiful, airy feel. The hotel still shows older pictures online, with an outdated TV, but we were happy to find a newer TV already installed. The amenities were excellent—truly some of the best I’ve experienced in a hotel of this category. Breakfast was on the smaller side, but absolutely sufficient. The cakes and pastries were quite decent, and having them in such a beautiful, old-style interior made it feel like we were stepping back in time—in the best way possible. A huge shoutout to the staff, who were all genuinely kind and accommodating. We felt their hospitality in even the smallest gestures, and it was very much appreciated. Lastly, the location is unbeatable—just a short walk from the Rialto Bridge, close to everything. Being so near the heart of Venice made it easy to go out and explore, then return to rest and recharge. It's also conveniently close to shopping areas, which is a nice bonus. All in all, this hotel was a hidden gem. If you're looking for a stay that combines charm, comfort, location, and authentic Venetian vibes, this is a fantastic choice. That mother on YouTube was right—it really is a great choice!

WWatcherHotel is just across the road from the Venice Mestre Station. Our room is of decent size on the eighth floor. It has dark brown carpet flooring making the already old hotel, feel even older. Although the room size is decent, it is not functional. We have an ”island” in the middle of the room with a TV on top and a fridge underneath.  They get in the way.  There is no space for a coffee table. We need to boil water with the kettle provided in the toilet.  They should have renovated the room with wooden flooring to give a clean and modern lift. Breakfast is very average, with no greens (salad) at all. You get just sliced cucumbers and shredded carrots.  Recommend to buy a day pass for unlimited bus and boat rides in Venice.

GGuest UserI received a message from the store in advance, explaining the route in detail. Take bus No. 2 from the train station and get off at the stop before the Riya Tow Bridge. After getting off the bus, follow the instructions and walk for 5 minutes to the hotel. Go to the second floor to complete the check-in formalities and then work. Staff took 10 minutes to walk to the apartment. Our room is on the second floor, with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with seasonings and a washing machine. The apartment is not in a busy area and is very quiet. It's a few minutes' walk to the river, very convenient. There is a market by the river in the morning where you can buy ingredients, and the seafood is fresh and cheap. Although prices are high in Venice, it is very cheap to buy water and food from supermarkets and markets.

WWongAlexI recently stayed at the a&o Hostel in Venice and had a comfortable and practical experience overall. The location is convenient, especially if you’re arriving by train—just a short walk from Venezia Mestre station, making it easy to access both the mainland and Venice island via public transport. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were generally helpful and multilingual. The room was clean and functional, with basic furnishings. I stayed in a private room with ensuite, which was a good balance between hotel comfort and hostel affordability. The bed was reasonably comfortable, though the walls were a bit thin—you could occasionally hear noise from the hallway or adjacent rooms. The communal areas were well-maintained, including a lounge, shared kitchen, and a bar area where you can socialize or relax. Wi-Fi was reliable throughout the building. This hostel attracts a mix of solo travelers, students, and budget-conscious tourists, which gave it a lively atmosphere. While it’s not the most character-filled or romantic place in Venice, it delivers solid value for the price. If you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and accessible base to explore the region, a&o Venice is a dependable choice.

GGuest UserIt was a nice experience overall. There is a €3.60 city tax per person per night that's added on and can only be paid in cash which was inconvenient. There is tea/coffee provided in the room, however, they also charge to refill them if you use any. Breakfast is an extra €5 per person and breakfast lasts less than 3 hours (7am-9:45am) which is a bit inconvenient if you want to sleep in or if you have to get up early. The desk staff is moderately friendly. When we first arrived they weren't too friendly but the evening and check out attendants were nicer. The room is pretty small and really only enough room to eat around the perimeter of the bed. The bathroom is decently sized, however, the shower didn't have a door so water pools out onto the floor unless you huddle close to the shower head and even then... The TV is very small and not easily seen if you are vision impaired. My biggest complaint, however, is how hard the bed was. There's little to no cushion on the mattress. I woke up both mornings I was there and had back and hip pain (I'm 28 yrs old in relatively good physical condition). It is close to sleeping on the floor. There was a closet with a nice amount of space to put our things. There is also am elevator to access the floors which was convenient on days that we walked a ton. The lobby is nice and clean and has some seating areas. We did not explore the bar or breakfast areas. The hotel itself is located near the water bus station for easy access to Venice. It is also on a strip of shops and restaurants. Granted most things on the island of Lido do close early and a lot of them are temporarily closed but still marked as open on Google maps. Plan accordingly and call places ahead of time. I've included pictures of the bathroom which was overall nice, however, I didn't take pictures of the bedroom as it was small and hard to get a good angle.

GGuest UserWe arrived at the most expensive hotel (AU$1600 for 3nts, 2 adults) we had ever stayed at, there was no lift to our room on the 1st floor. I struggled to carry 2 suitcases with no assistance from the gentleman in reception up to the 1st-floor room. This would be very difficult if we were older & unable to carry our cases. The wi-fi didn't work in the bedrooms only in the public areas - even though we were told it would. The bedroom had multiple squashed mosquitos on the walls next to the bed. The lace curtain had a couple of cigarette burns on it. The bedcover had a cigarette burn on it. The telephone handset cable was not connected to the .telephone - I tried to fix it but it wouldn't stay in the socket. The safe was not working. The instructions to use the safe were so old & worn out you couldn't read them. The shower wouldn't work properly, so I had to call the person in reception to assist us in getting it working. You had to get out of the shower cubicle to retrieve shower gel/shampoo/soap. There was nowhere in the shower to put these items. There was no room in the shower at all. I moved the stool in the bathroom to put my shower gel on it & two legs fell off the stool. The toilet roll holder wouldn't hold the toilet roll and it kept falling off. The bathroom bin was broken and filthy The breakfast ran until 10 am, the bread ran out & was not replaced & this was before 9 am. I am a travel agent & book many guests to stay in cities around the world including Venice I was upset that this hotel was an extremely poor standard and felt like it ruined the end of my beautiful holiday in Italy. We would be extremely grateful if you could offer us a credit for our next hotel booking with trip.com, we are in the process of booking our November Asia tour. Kindest regards
