Distrito Condesa Rooms and Studios

Distrito Condesa gets five stars for the important things in a moderate-cost B&B: clean, quiet, location, service. We got in late, so Fernando had arranged to meet & check us in (pay in full on arrival). He recommended a good taqueria/bar nearby and left us to it. What a nice man, and we realized later how much it helped to have a fluent English-speaker getting us started in Mexico City. Two water bottles in the room, limitless filtered-water refills in the kitchen; hot showers with ample pressure. Breakfast was good coffee and some pastries we didn't try - we wanted tacos! Now, if you need a lodging with all the features of a modern timeshare unit, this isn't it. The layout is best described as quirky. Our rooms had no exterior windows, and the bathrooms have been put together over the years like your grandmother's summer house. But: clean linens, clean floors, residential area near Condesa's lovely parks and restaurants, easy access to food stands and the subway, and five-minute response every time we summoned Uber. I'd definitely stay here again!

We chose this hotel following the comments on this site… but it has been our worst experience in Mexico. I scrztched myself all night because of insects and couldn’t sleep one minute. On the morning, I had big, serial, red insect marks on my legs and feet.When I said that to the owner and cleaner they didn’t seem surprised, and didn’t apologize. I had to freeze my luggage and clothes when I came back because I was afraid to contaminate my home. There are plenty other options in Mexico City !

In spite of a bumpy start/finish to our flight arrangements, Distrito Condesa was more than helpful in accommodating our delays by changing our dates and helping us stay over a bit longer than check-out time. I found the place to be charming; located in a quiet lovely neighborhood that is close to parks, restaurants and stores. Our room was clean, came with twin beds for my daughter and I, great bath with hot shower and an awesome outdoor private deck which was a perfect place for my morning coffee. A continental breakfast of toast, pastries, juice, coffee & filtered water is available-check times. This is a great B&B! Just what you need when most of your time is spent out and about. Distrito Condesa is a good choice for a budget B&B in CDMX. The neighborhood is lovely and very safe with many good restaurants within walking distance. Our room was small but met our needs. A continental breakfast of pastries, toast, fruit, juice and coffee or tea was provided daily. Fernando, the owner was very helpful.
