Overall ok

Regular visitors to Middelburg but first time at this hotel. My son and his family live a few minutes walk away that's why we chose this hotel. Situated across a canal from train station made it easy to find. Very friendly welcome. The place was very clean with good facilities. Room fairly spacious with a view of the canal. Bathroom excellent with everything you need in it . A Tv and coffee machine topped it off. Breakfast buffet excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stop there again. Not forgetting the excellent choice of beers in the bar.

We only stayed for one night but the experience was very good. Warm welcome on arrival and quick and efficient check in. We had three rooms between us, two on the fourth floor and one on the second floor. The two on the fourth floor were easily accessible via the lift. They were spacious with large bathroom’s. Mine was on the second floor which was a bit of a “faff” to get to as it involved going up in the lift and then strangely have to then go down two flights of stairs to get to the room. If you have mobility issues you would want to avoid these rooms. Once there however the room was comfortable with an amazingly comfortable bed. The shower room was very small. I did however have a very good view to the front of the property overlooking the canal. Breakfast was very good with plenty of hot and cold choices. There is a very large comfortable bar but the hotel doesn’t offer evening meals although a ten minute walk and you’re in the centre of town so plenty of places to eat. Parking is available both on the street and a small car park beside the canal. Both are chargeable between 8am and 8pm but you can buy discounted tickets at reception. Failing this there is a free car park behind the station a 2 min walk across the canal. I would definitely stay here again if I’m in Middelburg.
