Hotels with Breakfast in Millicent

What a wonderful, very clean and very affordable accommodation! After my last accommodation at a Caravan Park on Yorke Peninsula which was described as ”clean” by the owners and where I spent at least one hour to clean the cups, plates, glasses, forks, knives and spoons (the pots and pans were so dirty that I refused to touch them), I gave up any hope to find a really clean accommodation after 28 years of travelling through Australia, but here now is this great exception: The Hillview Caravan Park in Millicent which really positively surprised me. And the best thing is that this accommodation is in the centre of all the beautiful travel destinations around the Limestone Coast: the beautiful Canunda National Park, the fine Tantanoola Cave, Penola with its pretty Petticoat Lane (5 beautiful cottages, built between 1850 and 1869) and the Mary Mackillop Interpretive Centre, the Coonawarra Wine Region, Mt. Gambier and the wonderful Penambol C.P. with its awesome Caroline Sinkhole and the butterfly walk and the wombat walk, Beachport and Southend, the greatest windfarm in Australia just around Millicent and if you have children or grandchildren a wonderful big playground in the town itself.

When I booked this I was just looking for close to the hospital, the manager knew my husband was having an operation. Yeah OK it looks tired BUT the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the shower was hard and hot and the staff lovely, hell what more could I want for this price; there’s even a pool in the secure back yard.. Knowing our situation the manager even rang me and asked if we needed anything, how kind is that. I’d go back.

Stayed here 'cos it was close to where I was getting my 4WD serviced. The room was actually made up of about 4 rooms - kitchenette, bathroom, lounge/bedroom and bedroom. Yep, it probably needs a reno, but it had everything you needed, and I liked the layout and a real lounge! Very unusual, but nice. We had the free breakfast which was quite nice. There's another place I'll try next time just for a comparison, but I'd be quite happy to stay here again.

Stayed two nights at Beachport, the first night was here, and the second night was next door at Bompas (I have left a review). I booked the Two-Bedroom Apartment with Ocean View - Cape Martin, didn't need two bedrooms but took what was available. I loved the apartment; perfect for a family with plenty of room and great views. It was a freezing night, and the apartment had an excellent gas heater which was perfect with a pizza and a bottle of red. Both the Pizza shop and bottle shop were all within a short walking distance Check-In was contactless; you receive your room code via text when it is time to check-in. I am bringing the wife back here next time, and maybe the kids :).
