Great food lovely pub good staff friendly service. Beds were comfy if a wee bit small. Basic would be my description, it’s no Marriot but the food and staff in the pub more than made up for it.

A wonderful find. We thoroughly enjoyed our couple of nights here with all of the staff being exceptionally friendly and helpful. Excellent value accommodation and great value food. The pizzas looked great (although we opted for other dishes which were also very good). In addition, the place offer 4 real ale options, all from local breweries, regularly changing and in excellent condition when we tried them. Good breakfast and parking. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed one night, very warm welcome, accommodation was very satisfactory, unfortunately up two flights of stairs but not an issue for us. Enjoyed an evening meal on premises, good selection on menu, reasonably priced. Breakfast was substantial, recommend full english, other options available. Friendly staff, would recommend

Our second visit for food. We aren’t local sadly but drive past on our way home. The food on both visits was absolutely cracking. Great value, home cooked food. I recommend asking for a side of onion rings - best I’ve ever been served. We hope people embrace this as a local

Just got back from the Bulls Head and felt I had to put a review on .... despite having a caravan nearby for some reason we have never really visited the pub. However we popped in on Saturday afternoon after a trip to Kendal, the fire was roaring, the staff so friendly and the beer flowed .... we enjoyed it so much we booked for Sunday lunch the following day and asked for the same table in front of the fire " No problem " was the response. We arrived Sunday and the table was ready with the fire well and truly ablaze. We ordered Sunday lunch, I went for the trio of meats and my wife roast beef. It was amazing, tender and tasty and lovely and hot, great gravy and yet again amazing service from the staff. We followed this with the chocolate brownie and ice cream which was to die for ! Why oh why have we never really been in here I do not know but what we do know is we have found our new local when up at the caravan. Great food, great staff, roaring fire and good beer !

Stayed in the family rooms 2 and 3 with adjoining Jack and Jill bathroom. Rooms not massive but comfortable beds with crisp linen. Waters , coffee, tea and biscuits all available in the room. Had evening meal which was excellent and keenly priced. Staff and owner extremely helpful. Nice atmosphere in the bar.Would recommend.
