Hotel Jose Antonio

We stayed in what appeared to be an annexe building to the much smarter looking main building on the opposite corner. The soundproofing is diabolical. There was a gap under the door to the room which meant you could hear everything anyone said in the hall and stairs outside. You could hear the people upstairs in the bath and also the staff setting up for breakfast on the floor below. The female in the bar seemed completely disinterested in any form or service when we wanted evening drinks. There is also a large building site next door which is extremely noisy (except on Sunday.) That said, the bed was comfortable.

To be honest, I would put this hotel somewhere between 3-4 stars. It is in a great location so that brings up the rating. The room was fine - clean, with a decent bed, although small, but the bathroom was a bit tired. The breakfast buffet was good, not great. It was also pretty crowded with a convention. It's decent enough, but nothing special

I am writing to bring to your attention an alarming incident that occurred at Hotel Jose Antonio in Lima during my recent stay. At approximately 1 am, an unsettling event unfolded when an unknown individual entered the room designated for children, causing them considerable distress. Although my children attempted to contact me at 1 AM, unfortunately, I missed their call. Promptly, my daughter contacted the hotel's reception to address the situation. To our shock and dismay, the hotel staff casually mentioned that housekeeping had mistakenly entered the wrong room. The gravity of the situation cannot be overstated—having someone enter a room, turn on lights, and disrupt the peace of guests at such a late hour is wholly unacceptable. Given the magnitude of this lapse in security and the impact it had on our experience, I feel compelled to share this information with others to ensure awareness of the hotel's shortcomings. I believe it is essential to share a negative review detailing this incident, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable, irrespective of the time of day. I trust that you will find this information helpful in making an informed decision regarding your choice of accommodation. It is my hope that by sharing this experience, others may be spared from encountering a similar situation.

I stayed here for four nights and found it to be a friendly comfortable hotel at a reasonable price. I love the Miraflores neighborhood. It is a vibrant thriving area with upscale shops and nightlife. My only hesitation to recommend this hotel is that it is not ideally located to stroll and take advantage of the neighborhood. It is located several blocks from the main area and somewhat inconvenient to navigate the traffic. There are many hotels located near El Malecon with ocean views which I would prefer.

We arrived in Lima and stayed here 3-nights exploring the city. We did not stay at the main wing but were located at the building across the street that was very old. Noisy and cold as it was unlike a hotel but a service apartment. The restaurant on the second floor was small and seem to be always crowded and breakfast had limited choice with cold food. Location was the good point. Staff never smiled nor looked friendly. Overall a good nights sleep in a spacious room if one is not particular with the surrounding.

Lovely hotel with large spacious rooms and baths. Breakfast is very nice with choices for every taste. Hotel is located in a nice part of the city called Miraflores. It’s good location is near restaurants and walking distance to parks and beach.
