Sunset Mirissa

A 2 star hotel, with a 4 star view. We arrived at about 10pm and were shown to our room - these are very spacious but within about 30 minutes, we were welcomed by 4 large cockroaches, one of which was crawling on the bed - not a good start. We quickly changed rooms to the first floor. Whilst this one lacked cockroaches, it was very unclean, the bath looked as though it had never been wiped down, dead flies all around the sink, the fridge just about worked but was disgusting inside, as was the kettle, floor was sandy and unclean. With the price this hotel charges per night, the fact the basic cleanliness hadn't been covered was a massive let down. The facilities are very old and need replacing. The staff were not very friendly either. The pool was also unclean which is a shame because the views are incredible. We were also greeted by monkeys on our balcony each morning. Be prepared to have a battle with many mosquitos each night too, despite us keeping all windows and doors closed. It is also located up the top of a small hill and about 10 min walk away from the main rows of restaurants and shops. A very disappointing stay.

From start to finish we were made to feel very welcome at this beautiful hotel ,We late booked literally the night b4 checking in and only booked 3 days but customer service was amazing at all times , the hotel offers outstanding views with monkeys and other wildlfe on view at some points. They have nice rooms and showers. Very clean all over I must say we didn't eat there just as we wanted to explore the area. We went to the beach 2 days of the 3 which was only a short 5 minute stroll ,there is a hill upto the hotel when returning but the pool is lovely and refreshing to cool off in on return along with the lovely cocktails on offer you can chill and cool off. We did find the room warm but once we got used to the Aircon it was OK aircon slightly noisy though but hey u can live with that if it works.

The buffet spread can use a little more excitement but the staff go over and above to compensate for all it lacks. The rooms are super clean, spacious and very new. The reception to the wait staff all are super accommodating and provide fantastic customer service. Location is just a few metres from the beach … all the staff were super accommodating with all our requests and went over and above to assist us with it all .

The room was ful of bugs. They were everywhere, also in the bed. The staff and manager were very rude. They didn' t get us another room, they just want to sprey the bugs in the bed and put us in. In the end they gave us the money back at 10pm, and let us figure out....

Very friendly staffs. Deluxe rooms are perfect. Very cozy. Incredible view. Nice beach. Very nice food. Special thanks to Charith. Great service. Worth for the money and highly recommended for anyone looking for a stay at Mirissa.

We had the best time at Somerset Resort. Stayed here for 2 weeks and enjoyed everyday to the fullest. The staff here are some of the best people i meet abroad. Very very friendly and serviceminded people. I strongly recommend this place in Mirissa if you want to have a pleasant stay. Thank you // Linus
