Maistra Select Astarea Hotel

Absolutely loved it.the hotel and location are stunning. The food was nice in the hotel.the service and food at the beachside bistro was excellent and their staff were wonderful. Will definitely be back again. The coastal view is beautiful and an ideal place for a relaxing holiday

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) stayed here for 5 nights, and enjoyed all Mlini had to offer! We stayed in 2 basic rooms (annex standard rooms) with half-board, beach, all pools & sauna included. We had booked early, plus had a member & long-stay discount, so the price was 758 Euros total. They also provide a bus plan (bus is in front of hotel) to go to Dubrovnik, and that was 3 euros each to the city walls (under 30 min with traffic & stops). We also booked day trips to Montenegro & Bosnia and were able to be picked-up at the reception, so staying here was so convenient, for our family. They also offered a map of the coast, so we walked & saw some very beautiful spots & even a waterfall. The town was a perfect get-away from the city, offered water taxis, and even tours to the Elaphite Islands. The airport was also only 15 min away. We enjoyed ourselves to the fullest & they even served breakfast at 4:30 for those going on day trips & all trips had us back for dinner. Enjoy!

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. The room was lovely, and cleaned whenever we put the ‘please clean’ hanger on the door. Comfy beds, TV with everything from hotel info to Sky News to Netflix (if you have a personal account). Good breakfast, if laid out a little haphazardly…! We were B&B but ate in the restaurant one night, and buffet style like the breakfast, with a good choice of foods. Had a fab massage, and the indoor pool and gym are lovely too. Outdoor pool spotless and surrounded by lush greenery, although unheated, so chilly before 3pm…! The staff were wonderful to a fault, and couldn’t do enough, always with a smile. Location wise, Mlini is tiny with just a few restaurants, and a pretty harbour. Very peaceful. Water taxi to Dubrovnik old town or Cavtat, €15 return. Uber to old town (Pile Gate) about €12. Bus about €2.50, but to catch it - or to pick groceries etc up - it’s a 10/15 min walk (stagger) up the steepest hill known to man! All in all a lovely hotel in a gorgeous location, but don’t expect loads of amenities once you leave the hotel. Great for a peaceful getaway.

Have just returned from 10 day break. Hotel in a beautiful setting. Beside the ferry to go on island trips or to Dubrovnik. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean. We had breakfast included in our stay and had everything you could want. I also celebrated my birthday while there and had champagne and cake delivered to our room at no charge. So Thank You. We will definitely be back.

Great hotel, great sea view from superior room. Very clean, lovely staff. Not suitable for children/teenagers as no beach or entertainment. Only local visits from cheap boats to Dubrovnik and other bays. However the hot food offered was always cold and desserts the same square of cake every day. We had to go other establishments to get a decent meal which, having paid for dinner, was an expense we weren't expecting. The worst problem was that the towels, bathrobe and cupboards smelt very strongly of "others' body odour". I didn't realise for a few days and, on return home, I have had to wash clothes I didn't even use. Not pleasant. Would love to go back to Croatia but not to Hotel Asterea.

Check in was easy waited till 2pm till our room was ready the bar next to reception was lovely to have a coffee in whilst we waited. Room was in the annex, its clean and tidy. The room wasn’t to large the balcony was very spacious the view of the sea and surrounding hills is breathtaking. There is a small fridge, kettle, tv, hair dryer and complimentary tea and coffee in the room. The room was cleaned everyday. The pool area is beautifully done plenty of sun loungers about. The gardens are stunning and well maintained. There is a little beach area in front of the hotel with sun loungers and umbrellas available to rent. Definitely worth it as the sea is crystal clear and lovely to swim in (once you get over the cold). The spa is nice and reasonably priced. We used the indoor pool and Finnish sauna when the weather wasn’t to good, very enjoyable. Breakfast was super and plenty of choice. The coffee and juice were also nice. We only had breakfast so can’t comment on the evening meal. The beach bar and grill oleanders is reasonably priced with good portion sizes. The pizza and pasta restaurant basillico opened whilst we were here the food is excellent. There isn’t much in the area it’s very quiet and peaceful there is a supermarket along the bay about 2km away. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming it was a pleasure to stay at this hotel thank you for making our holiday so relaxing. We are already planning a return trip.
