Stayed one night, it was a clean and large comfortable living area. It is about 30 minute drive to the nearest town so get all the groceries before the stay.

Stayed 2 nights last week, received a text a week before with all the check in details. Very easy to find and its only a 20min drive to the Cradle Mountain starting point. The Wellington cabin was clean and tidy. Everything worked. Cabin was nice and warm. Bathroom was large and easy to use. Cooking was easy. While I did not use the spa it looked like a great thing to do.

Stayed in the Hartz cabin for 2 nights and wished it was longer. The cabin was perfect, spotlessly clean, spacious, modern and very well equipped with gorgeous bush outlook and on our last day woke up to completely snow covered and still fawling, just beautiful. Only a 25 minute drive up to Cradle Mountain. Well worth a stay in the Cradle mountain area. Highly recommend Cradle Alpine Retreat.

Absolutely loved this place! The outlook was superb. It did rain most of the time but it only stopped us walking around the tracks of Cradle Mountain… it didn’t stop us enjoying the unit. Comfy bed, large kitchen with breakfast provisions for both mornings and wonderful shower! We did do some wandering about but we were happy in the cosy comfort of the unit.

Rustic little cabins ( 4 in total but all facing bushland and not overlooking one another) in the woods. Perfect for accessing Cradle Mountain (about a 40 minute drive). Its a bit on the older side but everything appeared to be in working order. The massive bath tub was also a real bonus especially after a day of trekking up at Cradle Mountain.

We stayed in the Roland Cottage which far exceeded our expectations for only $180 a night in peak season. It’s a little further away from Cradle than most of the main hotels, but in a way we liked this better as it was quiet and peaceful - there aren’t many cottages and they are set right against beautiful bushland, making you feel like you’re in the forest. The cottage has a well-appointed kitchen with all the cookware you could possibly need, plus a microwave, kettle, fridge, stove and dishwasher. Coffee, tea and sugar were also provided. Best part of all though was a huge spa bath with bubble bath provided, lovely after a long day of hiking! We only wish we could have stayed longer.

The cottage is spacious, bathroom and toilet are clean. However attention should be given to the kitchen. There is a half drunk soft drink bottle in the fridge. Lots of half used unclean sauce left behind from other guests. All the tea and coffee container very dirty. A generous supply of jam, peanut butter, vegimite sachets. . Lucky I checked before using them and they are all expired. It’s difficult to get the temperature right for the shower. It’s either hot or cold. And no Internet provided. For a rate of over $300/night in a remote location 40 minutes drive to nearest town which has a super market and 40 minutes drive to Cradle mountain, I was disappointed and don’t think it’s a fair rate. Also during covid 19 period, not having access to clean kitchen utensils, no sanitary wipes or gel, left over food from previous guests, no rubbish bags, etc is really careless.
