The sanitary environment of the room is very average and a bit old. The breakfast food is quite delicious.

Nice hotel in the form of village with many nice facilities to relax for peaceful breakout. Enjoying nature, pool, sauna, Turkish bath or simply resting will charge your batteries. Possible outgoings to Visegrad with famous bridge, Ivac or even Mileseva monastery is possible.

You come for the scenery – it is beautiful!!! Accommodation is based in nice, well appointed cabins which I found to be very spacious, very clean, had a smart TV, beautiful views…the downside was the mattress…it needs to be replaced ASAP. The facility has an amazing patio for afternoon drinks, a decent restaurant….there are even tennis courts and a pool. If you are crossing over from Bosnia, this is probably your best (if not only) bet in the area. The views made up for the mattress

Mecavnik resort is a very picturesque place. There are a lot of handmade details on and inside the bungalows, and in the whole resort. That gives it character and it makes it beautiful and warm. Handpainted furniture was my favourite. On the other hand, hygiene is at a shameful level. Just to name a few examples: very dirty glasses we got at our bungalow, a bathroom with no ventilation and mold stains everywhere, clogged bathtub, plates and cuttlery all with fingerprints and greasy stains. As a result, during our 4-day stay, my husband (who just couldn't get past the dirty plates and cuttlery) didn't eat any of the meals we had paid for. And he wasn't missing much. The food was quite disappointing. Instead of a rich authentic Serbian breakfast bouffet which is advertised, it looked and tasted average to poor, and the flies were all over the food! The same situation was with dinner, very average to low quality and taste. Filter coffee (the only kind of coffee) at breakfast was horrible and made and kept in very dirty jugs. I had to go through many cups to find a clean one. In Serbia tap water is perfectly fine to drink, but in our bungalow tap water was murky and yellowish. We would drink the water from the mini bar, but nothing was replenished, so after the day we arrived and drank the couple of small waters from the mini bar, that was it! The swimming pool ... oh what a disappointment! It was very dirty, full of hairs, and with very murky water all the 3 different times in 3 days that we tried to have a swim. And to make it worse, we were either the only ones at the pool or there were another couple of people there. The showers smelled of sewage. Saunas were decent. The exercise machines were out of function. The only positive experience (besides the beauty of the nature and interesting and picturesque look of the resort mentioned above) was the caffe Corkan, where the sweets were authentic and extraordinary. This is the only reason I'm giving this place a two dot rate instead of a one dot. The staff were kind and helpful. The room/bungalow was clean (apart from the dirty glasses and the mold stains). At checkout nobody asked us if we enjoyed our stay and if everything was okay, so we didn't have a chance to mention any of the areas for improvement. To conclude: the place needs a proper cleaning, a new kitchen and restaurant manager, and a renovation. We had stayed at Mecavnik 5-6 years ago, and it was way better.

This is a nice village that was build only for a movie and now you can visit this village. For me after 30 minutes it is finished, but walking was very pleasant. The village is a bit far from other sights except Tara national park. There are options to sleep here.

The hotel is very poorly maintained, almost everywhere. For instance, our bathroom had an electric plug pulled out of the whole, in the very area where you get water! The breakfast is a disaster : some kind of school canteen food, both in term of quality and presentation. The restaurant is so-so. And unfortunately, one should add that the vast majority of the staff is both careless and passive-agressive. All contacts with them are an unpleasant experience. Conclusion: visit it during the day (it is cute and worth a look), but don’t stay at the hotel and don’t eat there.
