We booked a family dinner for mothers day. The service was excellent with a young vibrant staff being very helpful friendly and courteous. The food was absolutely delicious and all the mothers received vouchers for the spa along with some chocolates . We sat out in the beautiful garden for a little drink afterwards.

Had lunch in PK's as part of a student study trip and the team looked after the group extremely well. The food was excellent quality and the service was quick and efficient. This was very important as the group had to get on the road for Dublin airport after lunch. We will definitely return

Historical group of 50 had booked for morning coffee and evening meal . All staff members were very efficient and friendly . Food was excellent. We would highly recommend The Hillgrove.

Monaghan Arch Club celebrated 40 year Anniversary on Friday 13th June 2025 in Hillgrove Hotel Monaghan . Sharon and her team were so helpful , assissting us choosing a delicious menu with a choice to cater for all tastes , any request was no trouble. We had a wonderful evening ,everything ran so smoothly and all our members and invited guests had a really wonderful evening.

We stayed one night on June 14th. We were attending an event on that night. Our room was cold when we arrived and members of staff came several times to try and fix heating to no avail. A lovely lady on reception got us her own radiator and put it in room for us so we were eventually cozy. The rest of our visit was perfect nice dinner in PJ restaurant ,event room was magnificent and I will carry lovely memories of experience especially your lovely caring receptionist Anoja.

We recently hosted a gala function at the Hillgrove Hotel in honour of Conor McManus, with guests attending from all over the country - and the Hillgrove did not disappoint! From start to finish, the professionalism and attention to detail were outstanding. Liz, the banqueting manager, was amazing - calm, collected and incredibly accommodating. No request was ever an issue. A special thanks as well to Sharon, who worked behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious, and it's no small feat catering for 700 people - but the Hillgrove team handled it seamlessly. As a committee, we have no hesitation in recommending the Hillgrove Hotel for any corporate event or gala. The level of service, hospitality and quality is second to none

I stayed 3 nights with a large group of friends. The room was spacious and clean. We ate in the restaurant every night and it was fantastic. David the manager was so helpful, friendly and accommodating. We were part of a large group and the staff were brilliant

This was a first visit to the Hillgrove Hotel for a 3 night stay. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and with an extremely comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and courteous. The food in the bar bistro was very good as was the hot buffet breakfast selection. The only issue in breakfast room was the fact that the cups, teaspoons, milk, tea and coffee were also self service. I felt that customers having to carry pots of hot tea or coffee back to their tables might be unsafe at busy times. Enjoyed our stay and would visit again if in the area.

Visited here based on a recommendation, was disappointed as most people I spoke to raved about this place. The menu misdescribed the food, steamed root vegetables do not constitute roasted summer vegetables as described on the menu. Parmesan cheese on dishes shouldn’t be described as vegetarian but meat free. The ceiling tiles had damp marks, the carpet had holes or was threadbare in places and there was a hole in the roof. Overall, looking tired and needing a revamp. The rooms were in my opinion 3*. I can only assume the 4* rating was for the gym and spa which I did not use so can’t comment on.
