I've stayed at a couple of other Paradores hotels and they have all been excellent and this one is no different. It used to be a monastery and the building is both impressive and interesting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, as was the ensuite. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice to choose from.

The monastery itself is magnificent and the rooms very comfortable. The breakfast is adequate but quite expensive and for a region renowned for its bread, it is poor with only one type of bread to choose from. The coffee is very poor, on a par with some of the worst coffees in my country, the UK

Check in and check-out was smooth. The room itself was reasonably spacious with comfortable beds. However, the minibar was not obvious- we never saw it! Breakfast was good (limited hot options, but there was a reasonable options of breads and cold cuts)but dinner was a disappointment- very ordinary food only. If you stay for bed and breakfast, and go out for dinner, it should be ok.

Old monastry on the hilltop overlooking the town. Superb views. Lovely room and the food was very good. Has a gym, jacuzzi and an outdoor pool. Plenty spaces for parking. Nice and quiet for a good night sleep. Staff very friendly and make you very welcome.

Glad we were only there for bed and breakfast, what a disappointment. We were given misleading info when checking in as we expected that food would always be available in the cafeteria when it was open like all the other paradors we have visited. However, food was only available when the dining room was open so we went without. The menu in the restaurant was more restricted than others we have visited. The glass of complimentary red wine was not good quality and my wife could not drink it. The quality of the over bath shower was poor – the temperature fluctuated badly and the pressure was not great. Breakfast was not up to the quality we expect from the paradors. Usually we order hot food so it is fresh. There was no menu on the table but there were some about so I grabbed one. When I tried to order I was told that the ‘hot’ food was out (I hadn’t noticed). As with most other hotels with a buffet, the temperature of the food left a lot to be desired. There were no tongs on our table to use the buffet, so we used our forks. The waiter was not the friendliest we encountered.

It was an room with a view. A great view of the entire town of Montforte de Lemos. A lot of history and thing to explore. A great salute to the Women’s Day on the 8 of March 2024 with the “Homenaje Tower” all in Pink. Slept like a baby. Cafeteria was good and breakfast excellent.
