Horchem Hotel-Restaurant-Café-Bar

This is a wonderful hotel in the middle of a beautiful town. Rooms are great, clean, comfortable and linens are divine. The food is excellent and as well service. The owner and the staff went beyond expectations and meet our every need. Will stay again.

The hotel is central however you need to park in the public car park which is a short walk and 7 euros per night. We upgraded to a superior room (4) which gave us a bigger room with a river view. It had a large bed which was very comfortable. The hotel does need to move into this century! Only 2 of the 4 windows had secondary glazing which made it noisy - especially as it is opposite a church with a clock that chimes every 15 minutes. The bathroom had 2 sinks however the 3 lights above them were not working. We reported this and a member of staff came up with some bulbs but this did not resolve the issue. He advised they would be fixed the following day which didn’t happen - I suspect they had not been working for some time as whoever cleaned the room would have seen it when they cleaned the sinks. It wouldn’t have been so bad if there had been a mirror in the bedroom but the only mirror was in the bathroom. and you struggled to see what you were doing. The shower screen was so narrow the shower sprayed all over the floor. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. The breakfast was continental but they had scrambled eggs and sausages. They served you with tea/coffee. Internet is free with a good signal

Fantastic hotel and the owners are so awesome as is the staff. Super location and the restaurant is amazing. There’s no other place to stay in Monschau that comes close to the best place here. The rooms are updated and the bedding is very comfortable and clean.

The best thing about this hotel is it’s location. It is right in the middle of the old town, perfect as a base for walking around. It has character in spades, but no elevator. The restaurant serves decent German food and the breakfast is quite good. You can stop in front of the hotel to unload bags, but you must then drive on to a pay parking lot about 200m away.

This hotel just sums up Monschau. Very quaint and extremely pretty. We stayed for 3 nights and had dinner there 2 of the evenings. The food was delicious. The breakfast was very good for a small hotel. The staff we encountered were all extremely friendly and welcoming (except one man in the dining room) and were very patient with our poor German! Our room was pretty basic but exceptionally clean and the beds were amazing. We slept very well …. when we eventually got to sleep. This is our only negative about this hotel. Our room was at the front with the most gorgeous outlook, however, the noise from the pub downstairs and the Xmas market was exceptionally loud and went on until at least 1 in the morning as we were there over a weekend. If we stay here again or if we were recommending we would definitely pick a room at the back. We had a lovely stay here. Thank you !
