It´s a big resort situated along the coastline with some nice coves and restaurants and pools next to the sea. Unfortunately our experience from two apartments at the facility is that the standard is low, for a four star facility embarrassing. Our reservations were made using one of the online services just an hour before reaching the facility. We choose the option to pay at the hotel to be able to check it out before deciding whether to stay or not but missed the fine print that the local resort policy could limit the possibility to cancel. We arrived around dinnertime and could not inspect the property properly since the maid was cleaning the room for our arrival but the general impression was an apartment block and apartment in poor condition in need of a renovation. We tried to cancel our reservation but were not allowed to due to the local hotel policy which stated that we had to pay for a minimum of one night. They offered us a different apartment which was better but also a lot more expensive and from our expertise still grossly overpriced comparing with other resorts we had visited in Italy, Croatia, Austria, Germany and Sweden the previous weeks. Since we weren’t allowed to cancel our reservation we choose to stay the one night we were obligated to but cancelled the remaining three nights via the online booking site. Coming back at 10pm after dinner we realized that the apartment was in even worse condition than what we saw at first glance – we had no hot water, a latch with electric wiring was hanging out from hot water tank and the bathroom was torn with tiles, toilet and shower cabin partly broken and better fit for a budget youth hostel. The room felt dirty but was slightly better than the bathroom but still clearly substandard from our previous and present experience with other hotels in the region. At check-out I mentioned my disappointment with the facility and exemplified it with some taken from the bathroom. I was passed on to the quality program manager who were very forthcoming and interested in my photos and asked me to send them to her. To my positive surprise she offered to compensate us for our stay, we just had to use the online site as a middle hand for some reason. This was easier said than done but after returning home after a few weeks I found the right channels to make a formal complaint via the booking site. Now it turns out that this was a misunderstanding – they never offered to compensate us. From my point of view this is hard to believe, especially considering that I was told that I had to contact the booking site for a formal complaint but who knows, human communication if full of misunderstandings, maybe it was an misunderstanding from my part. This, however, doesn’t change the fact that this hotel, based on the two rooms we got to see, was by far the most overcharged facility and room during our trip.

We were here 3times before, so I knew the place. Its good for families, safe and you can spend whole week here. But I was so upset with the cleannes. Rooms were dirty, not upgraded or deeply cleand for very long time. Lot of insect on the walls(mosquitos killed by previous hosts, small spiders etc), patio area full of hair and sand... Also beach and pool was poor. Plastic bags, trash and dirt right next to the pool. Very dirty lounges were charged for 5 euro/day...thay should clean them sometime when they are charged I guess... Otherwise I have nothing to complain, but I think that cleaning service of the resort is highly underestimated... I dont know if they dont have enought staff of they just dont care, but it ruins the good impress of this place..

Everything was excellent, just as usual. Nice staff, great equipment in the apartman, beautiful envirement. We had everything what we needed. Dr. A. Wilson, the doctor of the resort helped a lot, when we needed medical help. He explained everything step by step through medical attendance.

Excellent location. Accommodation (we stayed in Istrian Villas) perfectly equipped and clean, beach and pools are great and all well maintained, all necessary facilities on ground (supermarket, bakery, ice cream shop, bars, restaurants, bike/scooter/kajak/boat/SUP rental, laundry room). The Fit Point improved much compared to last year, equipment is maintained and very clean and taken care of. Sport coach Vanja is amazing, she is one of the most passionate trainers I ever had and the programm is very diversified. Looking forward to next year!

We stayed in a Stella Maris apartment for 12 days in June 2023. The apartment was in good condition and had good basic amenities. The entire area was very well maintained and there were various beaches (sandy and pebble beaches). There was an extensive sports and exercise program. I particularly liked the circuit training and Latino dancing at Fitpoint with Vanja. She explained everything really well and was always there to motivate us. The aqua aerobics was also a lot of fun. We had booked half board. The dinner was varied and delicious. Only breakfast lacked fresh fruit and real juices (these tasted more like artificial syrup). The buffet times for dinner could be extended a bit (preferably from 6 p.m.), as it was very busy and we sometimes had to queue for 10 minutes. All in all, it was a nice stay and we would be happy to come back.

We were in the Plava Laguna / Stella Maris again at the end of August this year. Apart from the prices due to the euro, nothing has changed in terms of the things we criticized. Positive: The resort is really big and offers a lot, it's good if you've been there before and know most of it, because you have to ask about some things beforehand. Childcare, entertainment program, shopping, bike rental, Pummelzug, sports, climbing park....other shopping within driving distance, countless bars, restaurants, a small bakery, various beaches and moorings as well as several pools. The complex is nicely designed and walks from the resort to Umag are also possible. If you're not too fussy, you can have a great time here, but this year I want to go into things that you should pay attention to, hence this somewhat "fussy" explanation ;-) Most of the rooms are probably already "shabby" but we're not in a showroom here. Opinions differ here, it really depends on which rooms, apartments, bungalows or villas you rent. Some accommodations lack space, some are big enough. Some smell bad, some are problem-free - - some are less well equipped, some have everything, which does not mean that there is not a defective device. What do I have to watch out for?? The boiler (which is not always in the bathroom) has to be activated using a light switch for hot water. There is a sticker in the room with a QR code, which leads to a page on Plava Laguna, where you can set whether you need a cleaning service or towels, etc. Take a power distributor with you, there are not many sockets, no adapter necessary. If you have children or need a lot of equipment on the beach, take a handcart with you - it works wonders ;-) There are loungers and parasols at the main pool (by the children's pirate ship). Unfortunately, most of the parasols are a disgrace, some are defective, some do not fit with the posts or the height fixation is broken. They are dirty and often the ends of the fabric no longer stick to the umbrella (we recommend using clothespins to fix them in place). We also took our own parasol and two smaller ones with clips. Some of the loungers are partially broken or very dirty - it is a mystery to me why they are not replaced when there are countless better loungers that are stacked up and linked together - see photo ATTENTION: It is still a mystery where and for which guests the loungers and umbrellas are free, and at which points money is charged again, please inform us in good time. There is a "sports center" behind the buffet at the main pool (Luka Port harbor) where pedal boats, jet skis, etc. are offered, unfortunately you are not treated friendly there most of the time (we have heard many
