Had a 4 night's stay here, in fact, I am writing this at the hotel just prior to our departure. I am a Hilton gold member and have stayed at quite a few of their properties, especially in Latin America, where I reside. Pros- - Complimentary breakfast is better than most places. The ladies working in the restaurant area could not have been friendlier or more efficient.Beds/linens are excellent, as are the showers and shower pressure (on the 5th floor!) - Location literally next door to a shopping complex with a few restaurants, a Mcdonald's, bar, grocery store, bank, etc. - Uber drivers are very easy in and out and the cost is very reasonable from this location to the highlights of the city (i.e. high-end shopping, restaurants, parks, etc.), nominally 49-89 pesos each way. Cons- - Well below par front desk. Called two days early to ask about early check-in, as our flight landed at 9 am. We were told it should not be a problem as the hotel did not appear to be crowded. We arrived and were told no early check-ins, but they would call us when a room was available. We went out on the town and never received a call. Returned at 3 pm, but no room yet. We were provided one about 10 minutes later. No acknowledgment of our gold status, no complimentary water, no explanation of breakfast/points. No nothing. Sad and left a bad taste, but they continued along these lines. A few days later I needed some change for tips for the breakfast employees and room service. Oh no, they don't do that here. I need to go to a bank! Wow. - Had 2 power outages while we were here. The front desk could not confirm if they had a generator backup, or if it just did not work. One was at 6 pm for an hour or so, and then another at about 9 pm for another hour or so. Power outages happen, but I don't think I have ever stayed at a supposed higher-end property without a power backup. Also, the stairways became an instant safety hazard as three (out of 7) of the emergency lights in one stairwell did not work, and two did not work in the other stairwell that we used (trying to avoid the dark first stairwell as we did not want to use our cell phone flashlights to navigate down/up the stairs again). I informed the front desk of this safety hazard and was informed that they were busy. We will not be returning to this property, this being the second Hilton in a row with well below standard services, especially in the area of my family's safety, Why a company would put such effort into having me attain a repeat customer status at their hotel by issuing me a credit card, emails, offering discounts, free stays, etc. and then completely ignoring the fact I have spent money to attain that status is beyond me. We will not be returning to this property, and I will be switching to another hotel provider's ”special” customer program to see if I can actually be treated that way.
