After an overnight flight to Bordeaux, we did not want to drive on to our destination several hours away and decided to stay overnight at a hotel not too far from the airport, and on the way to our destination in the Dordogne. Chateau La Moune was a brilliant find, located just across the Pont Aquitaine, and close to the A 89. François, the manager, was so very accommodating and friendly. He even drove these two tired travelers to a nearby restaurant and returned to pick us up. He went out of his way to make our brief visit memorable. We had the chambre Nuptiale – a large, beautifully furnished room on the ground floor – the king-sized bed was a dream. His breakfast was wonderful. We could have had anything we wanted, but we chose to have tea and croissants – served with lovely jams, sweet local strawberries and other fruits. AND a piece of his over-the-top delicious orange cake – for which he offered the recipe – an offer that was gratefully accepted. Chateau La Moune has become our go-to overnight stop when we land at Bordeaux Airport.

It was a very nice stay in a lovely chateau! The person who welcomes you is absolutely adorable and his cookingskills are magnificent! We had breakfast every morning (18 euro) but it was totally worth it as all the ingredients were fresh. The rooms were big, you had a jacuzzi ( 25 euro/50min) and it made me totally zen. Must go!

We had a pleasant stay. Impeccably clean in the rooms. The meals are excellent, prepared with good products and a great chef. Very good welcome by François who is very kind. Very pleasant exteriors

Nous passé le week end pour mon EVJF. Le lieu est magnifique , calme , et reposant. Un lieu qui a gardé toute son âme. Le repas et petit déjeuner somptueux élaborés avec des produits choisis avec soin. François nous à régalé les papilles. Petit déjeuner très copieux et délicieux. François a été un hôte au petit soin, disponible et bienveillant. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir que ce soit pour un week end en amoureux ou entre amis!
