I arrived at The Better Inn Hostel on September 1st. & plan to remain here indefinitely due to the outstanding quality of this environment! Amos Lufumbilo, The Managing Director who is a man of the utmost integrity & his wonderful Assistant, Issa Hamisi facilitate this spectacular Hostel & also offer many tours at highly reasonable prices! I was first greeted at the gate by Borealis, a most friendly employee who’s BEST attribute is her attention to Customer Service & superb efficiency assisting Tourists with anything imaginable! The sensational Chef, Danny has attended school specifically for preparing gourmet meals ranging from their complimentary Breakfast to a varied menu for lunch & dinner = quite impressive! Moses is a superb Gardener as well as maintaining the Hostel Compounds exquisite grounds! He also assists with Housekeeping Duties & if needed helps in the kitchen! Noela, prides herself in keeping immaculately clean Guest Rooms & full bathrooms with flush toilets, hot showers & a sink area. The mosquito nets are carefully draped like a canopy over each King Sized Bed with white sheets, pillows & a cozy blanket. A plush towel is provided daily or as often as a Guest chooses! Noela is also available to wash Guests clothing for a very reasonable rate. There is also a comfortable 2-seater settee to enjoy reading, writing, etc. & a nice sized end table to accommodate Tourists various belongings + hooks on the back of the door to hang clothing. The four thatched Huts provide areas to relax, read or converse with other Guests. The biggest Hut has a Bar Area with a variety of cold soft drinks, & beer, a big kitchen, 2 large dining tables complete with table cloths & a lovely sitting area with a large flat screen T.V. So far, I have gone on a fun Bike Tour in a beautiful Sugarcane Plantation with my own personal guide, an incredible weekend at The Osillgilai Maasai Lodge, a booked week in Zanzibar with an ocean front Bungalow for Christmas & an upcoming Safari being planned! My main goal for staying in the Moshi area for a year is to volunteer teach in various schools, to observe watching students in action in other schools & assisting in an Orphanage. In terms of school highlights “The Faraja School” + Boarding Home to 100 severely Physically Challenged students from age 7 to 18 was a monumental experience! I was personally driven the two hour distance each way by Issa in Amos’ vehicle = YES Guests are treated like royalty!. It is an honor to be a Guest here & I feel quite blessed! Kibo Palace Hotel Moshi

I had dinner at the hotel and I did not realize that the waitress made a mistake and charged my credit card in US dollars instead of 33.990 TZ shillings. An hour later, the waitress knocked my door and told me about the mistake and that they would reverse the transaction in the morning. It took the hotel 2 days to sort that out with their bank (NMB Bank). I spent about US$500 on international phone calls with my bank in SA so that they undersand the problem and help me solve it. After a long struggle, I got my money back after 25 days. I am writing this to alert tourists who visit Tz. Please look at the credit card machine to ensure that the correct currency is being charged before pressing the buttons. Scrutinize the receipts that you get and keep them until you get home. Regardless of the nerve-racking experience that I had, I would like to thank the Kibo Palace Hotel administration and staff for their honesy (admitting the error) and for the great efforts they put forth to ensure thae reversal of the reve money as they had no experience with this issue before. Everybody at the hotel was sympathetic and very supportive. Every now and then they contacted me to see if I got the money or not. My advice to the hotel is to train their staff especially waitresses/waiters in using payment machines, and even improving their English to avoid such mistakes and hastles. I wish the accountant tooke me with her to the bank so that I know exactly what is going on so that I give solutions or ask my bank for solutions. if I come back to Moshi, I would definitely stay at the Kibo Palce Hotel and enjoy Mt Kilimanjaro views.
Primeland Hotel

I thought it was a new homestay, but it should have been in operation for a while. The facilities in the room are in the style of the guest house in the 90s. The clock is bad, the mirror is facing the bed, and there is no charging socket at the bedside. The water in the bathroom is unstable, hot and cold, not drained, no elevator, and the waiter drags the luggage up to the second floor. The restaurant is slow to eat, and there are no other choices around. Anyway, it is OK to stay for a few hours. The waiters are very warm and friendly, the public location is very good, the price is particularly good in the local area, can not ask for too much.

I recently stayed at Secret Garden in Moshi, Tanzania, and it was perfect for my Kilimanjaro trek. The staff was helpful and friendly and made me feel right at home. Rooms have a private bathroom and grounds were very clean. The breakfast was robust for a b&b and the coffee was amazing!!!!!! Reliable power and internet so I was able to get work done from my room and prepped for my remaining travels hassle-free.All in all a cozy and budget-friendly spot in Moshi, this B&B is where it's at, no doubt!
Panama Garden Resort

It was our first night in Africa after traveling for over 18 hours and we were delighted to stay overnight in the comfortable and clean rooms at Panama Garden Resort in Moshi. We were in our own little bungalow building. The shower and room facilities were good. The small bar area was perfect for a quick drink and dinner. Breakfast offered a variety and each of us were able to find something we liked. It wasn't a busy time and service was prompt.
Brubru Lodge

We enjoyed our two-week stay and highly recommend this hotel. Our room was clean and spacious and well-stocked with supplies. The staff were friendly, professional and courteous. Breakfasts were excellent. We especially want to thank Beatrice, Jessica, Angel and Jacqueline for making our stay so comfortable and going above and beyond for us. The hotel is within walking distance to town but taking a bajaj/tuk tuk is convenient. We had an early-morning flight out of Kilimanjaro International Airport and needed to leave Moshi at 3am. The staff prepared a packaged breakfast for us to take with us and Isaac drove us to the airport in the middle of the night - we are very grateful for this. Note: Power sockets are international and fit a variety of power socket types including UK and Australian.
