Mossel Bay Guest House

The rooms have no Aircon which created a very muggy situation inside. The towels were very old and the second you use them, you can smell that. There appears to be mold in the bathroom/room. The breakfast napkins were all quite dirty and even some of the utensils/coffee cups etc. The staff was nice if you asked them anything. I think the guest house needs a big redo. The location was good. It was close to where you needed to go via car. There is parking in a covered garage, which was also nice.

This guesthouse has the most amazing views. Free off road parking. The decor is a little outdated but as mentioned before, it is up for sale. Tea & coffee making facilities but no fridge in the room (although communal honesty bar available). Breakfast was absolutely delicious & the chef so absolutely lovely. However, we didn’t feel entirely welcomed by the host when we arrived, it was a little formal & not very friendly. This is the first time in all our travels in South Africa we found someone who wasn’t particularly friendly. The lady who cooked us breakfast who was great said goodbye, not the host. Most disappointing was no outside furniture as seen on website photos. Our host said the decking had been painted but some could have been put in the garden. No pool furniture. So on a very hot day after a very long journey we had to lie on the stone next to the pool. Such a shame. Also we didn’t like the saloon doors to the bathroom / toilet. Not much privacy.
