Had a wonderful meal at the Biai restaurant for returning guests the table gifts and food were amazing thank you Noura and all the staff, you make the hotel the success it is. Sonia and Nabil thank you so much for allowing us to experience a Tunisian wedding, it was amazing, we wish you a long and happy marriage. Just back from TUI Blue Manar, an what a fantastic holiday with my wife an children.. The hotel is absolutely beautifully kept. The staff can't do enough for you. For example my little girl wanted her hair braided. Wasn't available at the hotel, so a member of staff on her day off took my wife an daughter to the local hairdresser an sat with them for 4 hours. Above an beyond what was ever expected. From the cleaner to the chef to the waiters to the reception staff. All can't do enough for you an always smiling an asking if everything was ok. I even went out one day an on my way back in the gate the Gardner gave my wife a flower. So in return I picked a few weeds with him as a thank you..I have never been to Tunisia before an was sceptical before arriving. But I'm now booked up for next year an have a second family now. People will always find The negative in something but honestly this place is brilliant.

We visited end August beginning of September. Family of 10 age range 12 to 79. We had asked for 5 rooms near each other and these were made available to us which we were very pleased with. They had a balcony and a decent bathroom. Only water was provided in the fridge. This was not refilled at all while we were there so we just got our own from the bar or dining room. We also got milk from the bar. Tea and coffee not refilled so got tea bags from the dining room. I think you could request on the app but quicker to do it yourself although not my idea of 5* service. Rooms had sockets to charge phone etc. We used the buffet restaurant most of the time as there was only the snack bar for lunch which was any different. It wasn’t too bad at breakfast and lunchtime as not so busy. The evenings on the other hand were stressful for me. Despite our lovely waiter being able to find us a table for 10 in a fairly quiet spot trying to get food was an unpleasant experience. It was so noisy and people pushing and shoving. Manners seemed to be an alien experience for some of the people. People were piling plates high with loads of food and their tables were littered with half eaten food and plates of untouched food. Such a waste. I was standing behind a man who helped himself to watermelon slices. He then saw the server was cutting a fresh one so he just pushed what he had on his plate back onto the serving dish and got some fresh. I mostly dreaded going in there and I can honestly say this is the first holiday I have had when I’ve come home not having put on any weight .. the food quality was good and there was plenty of choice but the atmosphere just killed my appetite. We had the opportunity to use the a la carte Baia restaurant once in our stay, which seemed a bit mean as we were staying for 2 weeks, and this was a lovely experience having someone get your food and wine and be treated with respect. We spent most of our time by the quiet pool which was a very nice area. The lovely lifeguard kept everyone quiet blowing his whistle when it got too noisy. He even got me an extra mattress to make it more comfortable when I injured my leg The kids did occasionally go to the other pools. I walked round there one day and was glad I wasn’t staying anywhere near. It was so noisy with constant banging music. We didn’t really bother with the entertainment although we did venture down to the beach for an evening of African dancing. Unfortunately there was nowhere to sit, so we didn’t stay long. The lobby area which had a bar was vast but there seemed to be a lack of seating. Certain people seemed to think it was ok to sprawl over a four seater sofa which meant trying to find seats for 10 of us for a pre-dinner drink was almost impossible. Three of us managed to sustain injuries whilst at the hotel but we were well looked after by the resident nurse for which we are very grateful. All in all it was enjoyable as we enjoyed it as a family but the lack

Fantastic hotel: The hotel is massive with lots of grounds and great facilities. Very family orientated with very friendly staff who really go out of their way to see to your needs are met Great pools which are very well kept, including an activities pool with a swim up bar and a kids pool the opposite side. Great slides which are constantly monitored and staff ensure that the pool rings for the slides are shared fairly amongst the kids so everyone gets a go. The large relaxation pool which is always kept nice and quiet. Beech is amazing, again on our visit there was no loungers free but a member of staff went and got 3 for us. Lots of activities and sports on a daily basis. With modern tennis and racket courts. Food and drink: Generally is very good. 5 Bars, one in the main lobby but is easy to access from outside. A pool bar, a beech bar, snack bar serves food and drinks and a bar out front where music is played at night. The local beer and particularly the wine is excellent. Buffet or main dinning hall is good but at breakfast and dinner it gets very busy. The snack bar is fantastic and always a great selection including beef burger and pizzas but it closes early in the evening. The hotels al a carte restaurant is amazing and well worth the visit. Amazing sea view. Sadly we went on our second last night so recommend visiting early. Room: We booked a room with a terrace and pool which we shared with another room. Well worth the extra as the views and gardens were lovely. Some of these room are located next to the activity pool so if it’s peace and quiet your after id suggest you ask you try avoid these. I found the room small and the second bed was a couch converted, so not what I was expecting for a premium package. The bathroom was massive so the room could be bigger. The room was cleaned every day but the towels and toilet roll was not always replaced and the bathrobes water and coffee was never replaced. Only other negative is that the hotel is in a constant battle with ants and flys but the staff and army of cats (not pets) do a good job of keeping the hotel clean and safe. Security at the hotel is subtle but effective and I always felt the hotel was very secure. One night while returning to the hotel along the beech a security guard stepped out from behind a bush to identify us which was surprising but very re-assuring. Tunisia is a very liberal country and outside the resort I always felt safe but some of its infrastructure is in dis-repair so watch where you’re walking! We travelled with TUI and our reps were excellent and couldn’t do enough for you. Does & Don’t: I would recommend packing mosquito repellent, anti-histamines and electrolytes. My 10 year old was hit hard by the heat the first day but electrolytes and being sensible about time he spent in the sun ment we had no issues at all. But if you planned on going on excursions the humidity and heat may be tough to handle so be prepared. Do not attempt to drive!!! Roa

We are just back after our holiday at Manar as a large family group. The hotel has everything you need, lots of activities and music going on around the main pool if that’s your thing, or a very peaceful relax pool away from it all, we chose to be in between, at the pool at the back of the slides. A good sized pool, with access to small kids pools, bigger slides, and the snack bar, which worked well for us. Evening entertainment was pretty standard all inclusive, I’ve seen better, and also worse. The hotel has lots of options at the buffet in the evenings, my wife felt she has had better elsewhere, and that some meat was overcooked, it is probably understandable that they err on the side of caution, rather than undercooking? I enjoyed the choice and the food very much, with lots of being cooked freshly in the restaurant, so personal opinions will always vary. Lunchtime was mostly spent at the snack bar, with a mention needing to go the very pleasant and friendly young man at sandwich/panini bar. We were in a swim up room in Manar 2, the room was clean and comfortable, lots of space for clothes etc, yes there are small things, like the silicone in the shower needing replaced, but you can find fault everywhere if you try. My one suggestion would be, that the room is the “wrong way round” compared to almost everywhere else. The kids beds were in the main area with access to the terrace, and which had the table with the kettle, coffee machine, fridge etc. I understand the bedroom with door maybe gives a bit of privacy, but as the adults we sit up later outside, and we are up earlier, having a coffee in the morning etc, which we couldn’t do without disturbing them, so I think it would make more sense to have the kids in the separate bedroom. Finally, all of the staff were friendly and helpful, I don’t think I seen one staff member who wasn’t. However, we do need to highlight our cleaner Najeh. Due to the room not being quite ready, she was there when we arrived, and could not have been more welcoming, then and throughout the holiday, continually making sure we had everything we needed. I would advise the management of the hotel, while I have no complaints at all about any of the staff, if they are looking for someone to set a standard and be an example for others, then she should be the example.
