Centara Muscat Hotel Oman

When we arrived there was no receptionist at the desk, it took a long time for someone to come and check us in and even longer to give us a room. After a long wait we went up to our room excited to finally rest after a 13 hour journey, but we were surprised by two workers knocking at our door wanting to replace the bathroom basin. That was a second disappointment. The third night the ac was not working properly and we had to wait till the morning as there was nobody available to fix it during the night. The forth night as we were sleeping we heard water droplets but did not bother to check as were very tired and it was dark. When we woke up in the morning we saw a pool outside the bathroom door extending to our bed. The water was coming from the ceiling, we believe after the fixed the ac but not sure . We rushed to report it and we left the room after breakfast. When we came back at night it was fixed. Both of the door cards failed to work 2 or 3 times and they are very old and dated. We were also very disappointed to find that the swimming pool was out of order. The pool is filled with old green water. One of the reasons I chose this hotel because it had a swimming pool but I was very disappointed when I couldn’t swim. When I complained to the manager about all the above points he was apologetic and offered me personal looking after when I come back next time but I said I will never come back to this hotel again . Then he offered a dinner for two which I refused too as my intention was not to get compensation but to raise these serious issues so that other customers don’t face what we faces. The experience was such a disappointment to out holiday. The hotel in real life looks a lot more dated than the photos unfortunately. The wifi was not great either. On a positive note, the staff were polite and the breakfast was ok. The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed even an iron and ironing board as well as a bath robe. and without the issues we had it would have been good. Room service was good too. I personally would not go back again but it you are going for a night or two on a business trip and want to take a risk with a room hoping nothing would go wrong then it might work.

Rooms were new, and perfectly clean. Great service and helpful staff. Highly recommended

I booked for my friends, who came from Salalah, they had good time and good experience with local restarants which is occupied.

In my opinion this hotel seems to be a 2* hotel rather than 4*.  We received a room with an AC not working. Nobody answered our calls and requests and I had to complain in person to change my room after several calls.  The breakfast is normal. You easily hear the conversations in the corridors and rooms next to you ! As my experience Waize navigators is wrong in addressing the hotel and you must be very careful when using your navigator. (Pin the location upon your arrival)

Cleanliness is amazing , breakfast is good Staffs are good.

Standard Hotel in the near of the airport. Equipment and comfort nothing special, but good price for one night.

The hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport. There are many eateries and convenience stores near the hotel. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable
