Great pizza, relaxed feel, kids play and have lots of fun. The staff is very friendly. I have to visit each time I come to Nairobi. I Never got dispaointed. Somehow it makes me feel i am at home and connected to the place on a deep level. Trees, grass, swing, and fresh air. Perfect commbination to spend an afternoon with your kids and bond.

Waited like 40 minutes before drinks and food come to table only to find that pork is not properly cooked. The waiter is not doing the job properly and seems not to understand what guests want. Disappointed, and will never come back again although the garden is very beautiful!

Everything about this hotel was good except for the rooms. My room was next to the basketball court, and they did not leave till about 10 pm every day. The dryer worked for 9 minutes then stopped; turned it on again then ran for 3 minutes; tried again then ran for 6 minutes. After trying to dry my clothes for 30 minutes I gave up. The floors are extremely slippery even with skid proof socks. I slipped and hit my head on the wall. The hot water has four settings 1-cold; 2- warm; 3-hot, and 4-very hot. So it was difficult to regulate the temperature, as the very hot is almost scalding and you can’t regulate the temperature. No hot water in the early morning, even if set at very hot. Only cold water comes out of the bathroom sink. I had to get on a chair to see the different hot water settings on the shower head, and I couldn’t reach the hangers to hang up my clothes without standing on a chair. Not very safe. Definitely not for the petite travelers. My room was extremely cold for about 2 and a. 1/2 days. Although I like my rooms cold this room was so cold that I wore my jacket till it warmed up. The temperature had to be in the high 50’s to low 60’s. With all of the issues I had, I was told that I was in the new part. If this was the newer part of the hotel, I’d like to see the older part. The wait staff, and management were good, friendly, and helpful; the pizza was good, but otherwise do not waste your money on this place, you will be disappointed. Spend a little extra to get a place with hot water you can regulate, a dryer that will dry your clothes , and closets where you can hang your clothes.

Here on holiday before heading to Safari with a group of friends. Rooms clean and neat though spartan - only tiny bath soaps and no other toiletries. Comfortable beds and good lighting and there are safe sun each room. Got in late and hoped to catch up on a little sleep on what should have been a quiet Sunday morning away from downtown but at 7 am basketball noises started up - the court (which can and is booked from 7 am ti 9 pm daily) started with its first customers of the day!!!! They are back at it again (we were out most of the day) but I am told it was booked solid so this will continue until 9 pm tonight. As a former Mennonite retreat, the grounds are lovely but it also means they still host church services on Sunday mornings - the speaker testing started at 8 am with nearly constant music and then the live service started at 10 and and went past noon - all occurring loudly through the speakers which are directed directly at the balconies of the lodge. At the back there is a playground with all kinds of equipment - and many screaming and screeching children during all daylight hours. So just be prepared for the decibel level on three of the four sides of the lodge to be much higher than one would expect at former retreat.

We visited on Sunday 7th August with an intention to have meals there then cut a birthday cake only for their rude staff to tell us that we needed to pay Shs3,000 for that regardless of how much we order....NB- we were the only guests in the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon Never again Amani Gardens!

Was there for a Saturday afternoon catch up with friends, the food was good and the service was good. Our service attendant for the afternoon was Halima, who was patient professional with a lovely smile. They have beautiful well manicured gardens.
