Hemingways Nairobi

Excellent hotel. Abit far from the city centre but it had an amazing environment surrounded by nature. The rooms were massive. The overall experience was great! The gym could been better on the other hand the pool was lovely.

Cassey, our server was very kind and friendly. He's also very good at upwelling the hotel services The location is ideal for a nice meal. In general its a pricey establishment, catering to upmarket clientelle. Food is good, not great especially considering the price.

My experience was excellent! The staff is amazing! We had a special dinner with server Teresia. She explained my appetizer would take 20 minutes. I liked having the choice to say yes or no. I am very happy I said yes to the baked Brie with cranberries. The lamb entree & pork entree were excellent. Everyone we encountered was very hospitable!

We stayed at Hemingways 4 nights in December at the beginning of our 3 week vacation and we are so glad we did. From the moment we arrived until the day we left the staff were all so hospitable & kind. They remembered our names after the first day and went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy. John, the concierge, helped arrange a wonderful Nairobi National Park tour with a take away breakfast that was very good. He also arranged to hold our luggage while we went on safari in Tanzania and had it transferred to our airport hotel when we returned. We had such peace of mind knowing that our luggage would be taken care of. Restaurant recommendations were great. All the wait staff and housekeeping were attentive and very good. The hotel grounds are beautiful, very quiet & security is tight. It was nice to see the Christmas décor which was beautiful & the gingerbread houses with the electric train were quaint. The hotel location was perfect for what we wanted to do – Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Giraffe Center are all nearby. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of bottled water & a mini bar. The food at their restaurant was really good and offered options for everyone in our group of 4 – mushroom soup, chicken tikka korma, miso basted chicken, deep fried Ngege, & steak we all enjoyed very much. Their “Perfect Gin & Tonic” should not be missed! My spa treatment was the only thing that left me wanting a little more…the wrap I had offered a very thin layer of product & I was left wrapped up for 45 minutes which was way too long. I was so happy to shower and start the 2nd half of the treatment with a massage which was very nice. We all hope to be able to come back to Nairobi and stay at Hemingways – highly recommend!

The Hemingways is a beautiful property in Nairobi. In a gated area it is very safe, peaceful, and a bit of time travel to when traveling was fun and unique. The hotel knows it's roots and from incredible service from 24 hrs butlers to good that is wonderful you can't go wrong. We discovered The Bar on the second floor. On a Sunday night, we had it to ourselves. Victor, their award winning bartender, makes amazing drinks including the Hemingways Ronin which I highly recommend. Victor took great care of us and made our stay delightful. I highly recommend the hotel and staff for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

One of the best brunches on a Sunday chill vibe that i would definitely recommend. Friendly staff namely Gibson and Gerald, they are the ones who took care of us. The brunch ends at 4 pm so you should keep that in mind. The only negative comment i have about the place is that the staff are a bit pushy in pouring drinks. Overall the property is well kept and clean with a beautiful fountain and some nice trees which makes you feel like the air you are breathing is different from the usual one in Nairobi CBD .
