"Very pleasant stay. They had the best staff who always have a smile when they deal with you.
They have a nice spa and gym
I had a problem with my room and they moved me straightaway
The rooms are spacious and the beds are huge
Only problem I had was they don’t have air conditioning but when I asked for a fan it was brought to my room immediately
The housekeeper Lynda was great she always made sure your room was up to your satisfaction
The concierge Masinde was always on hand to help me. Whenever I came back to the hotel after a few days touring he would bring a plate of fruit to welcome me back"
"I was pleasantly surprised by how well-managed this hotel is. The gym facilities are great, and there's even an on-site supermarket, so you don't have to leave the building. The kitchen is incredibly well-equipped for cooking your own meals. The living room is spacious and perfect for watching TV, and the bedroom is equally comfortable."
"I recently stayed at Golden Tulip Westlands Nairobi and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is fairly new, well-maintained, and in a convenient location. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay, and the room was comfortable and met all expectations. Breakfast was also very good with a nice variety of options.
However, I was quite disappointed with the swimming pool. It was not properly maintained — the water was dirty, and the surrounding tiles were broken, making it unsafe to use. Unfortunately, this was a major downside to an otherwise good stay."
"Updated building in need of a remodel, tried to charge $23.00 for breakfast alone. Bathroom in room was not good, small tv in the living area without Netflix or YouTube. They need a remodel"
"I was very happy with my stay at Fedha Residences! the location is great: many cafes, restaurants and supermarkets are nearby, you can also walk to many places.
The people at Fedha are very nice and extremely helpful. They made my stay special and took care of me when I needed their assistance.
I highly recommend staying here when you visit Nairobi."
"I stayed here solo.
I arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Kenya after 7:30pm, and although the hotel's check-in time had already passed, I was able to enter.
I was scheduled to be picked up for the safari tour at 7am the next morning, so my stay was really short, but the staff were kind enough to explain everything to me, even though I didn't know anything. I was very worried about the safety of the hotel, but the driver even took me to a nearby ATM.
Breakfast was buffet style, and the chef made omelets for me.
Everything was delicious.
The room was simple, but the facilities were very clean, and I wished I could have spent a little more time relaxing!
I would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much."

"Ibis, as always, provides comfortable, clean, and safe place for sleeping in a prime location. Just pure basics. Front desk service sometimes were helpful, sometimes they give you the lazy, budget-hotel-level of service. But hey, if this was Sofitel or their (Accor) more premium brands, I'd expect more. Breakfast (if included in your booking) is good stuff."
"Scored 5 star on all aspects, perfect place for short or long stays, families and Business travelers.
Facilities on roof top or world class and it is right at the center of Nairobi."
"The management is very formal, the staff is well trained, the room hygiene is done in general, but it is good in Kenya, and the breakfast is delicious."

Outstanding
AAnonymous UserWe had a great stay at this lovely apartment near Yaya Centre. It was clean, well-equipped with a kitchen, washing machine, hairdryer, and had strong Wi-Fi. The location is safe and convenient, close to malls, markets, and easy to get around with public transportation.
The owner was super friendly and gave clear check-in instructions. Security was excellent and the guards were always welcoming. A perfect place for foreign tourists…. highly recommended!
GGuest UserAs a business traveller, we're here for 7days. Breakfast remains the same daily. Comes with a compact gym that caters to all your needs.
Rooms are very clean but the smells of cookings fumes were quite heavy as we were staying right under the rooftop bar. Dragging of chairs can be quite disturbing as well.
The bonus is that we had our own mini balcony which gives us a good view of the neighbour with bright morning sun.
KKay KiatThey provided three meals, if you are a Chinese tummy I had the chance to stay at Xiaomi Homestay in Kilimani, Nairobi, and it was a refreshing mix of comfort, convenience, and cultural charm.
Location & First Impressions
The homestay is tucked away in the lively Kilimani neighborhood, which makes it easy to access restaurants, shopping malls, and transport. The property itself feels modern, clean, and welcoming — a good balance between homely warmth and hotel-like comfort.
Comfort & Amenities
The facilities were a big plus. The gym was well-equipped, making it easy to keep up with workouts, while the swimming pool was perfect for relaxing after a busy day in the city. Both amenities added great value to the stay, especially for anyone who enjoys fitness and downtime in equal measure.
Meals & Dining Experience
One of the standout features was the inclusion of three daily Chinese meals. This made the stay very convenient, especially for anyone missing home-style dishes or simply wanting a reliable, flavorful option without having to step out. The meals were hearty, authentic, and gave a unique cultural touch to the experience.
Atmosphere & Service
The overall atmosphere was warm and peaceful. The hosts provided thoughtful service, striking a nice balance between giving guests privacy and being available when needed. It truly felt like a home away from home, with just the right amount of care.
DDominicI booked a 2-night stay over Saturday and Sunday while waiting for my 1am flight on Monday. I had just returned from a safari and was extremely tired, hoping to get some rest. Unfortunately, starting around 4am on Sunday, there was a lot of noise coming from the room directly in front of mine. It appeared to be a group occupying multiple rooms, shouting and moving between them.
I called the lobby twice, and while the receptionist was kind and responsive in contacting the group, the noise continued, and I eventually gave up on trying to sleep.
Later that afternoon, the tap and shower in my room stopped working. I had to call again to have it fixed, and even after it was restored, there was no hot water. I had a VERY cold shower.
That said, I genuinely appreciated the food and the aesthetic of the property—the African artifacts in the hallways and the soaring ceilings made the place feel very special. It’s the kind of atmosphere I’d love to return to. However, because of the disruptions and inconvenience I experienced, I don’t think I’ll be coming back unless necessary.
YYao bukeyanThis is a relatively new and luxurious hotel in Nairobi. Security is very strict, with security personnel questioning guests at the entrance, dogs checking for explosives, and even armed security personnel checking bags in the lobby. However, there's no need to worry about security; it's purely a government requirement. The staff at the hotel are very nice, from the front desk to the concierge and the restaurant. Everyone is friendly and willing to help with any questions.
The hotel has comprehensive facilities, including table tennis, darts, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool. The restaurant offers a rich breakfast and excellent coffee.
The hotel's location isn't very central, so there are no restaurants nearby. You can either dine at the hotel or take an Uber to the nearby village market, which offers both food and shopping. It's very convenient.
LleannlynThe hotel is very new and the decoration style is very modern. The breakfast is rich in variety. But the service needs to be improved. I ordered hamburgers and pasta in the restaurant at noon and waited for an hour before they were served.
GGuest UserI recently stayed at the Argyle Grand Hotel near Nairobi Airport for a short transit visit and overall found it to be a well-designed and welcoming property. From the moment we entered, the grand high-ceiling lobby left a strong first impression. The space is both elegant and vibrant, with a lively café that adds to the hotel’s energetic atmosphere. Although our stay was brief and we didn’t get to explore the entire property, a few key observations stood out:
Room Comfort & Facilities The room was spacious, well-maintained, and offered a comfortable environment for rest. All essential amenities were available and thoughtfully arranged. However, one practical inconvenience was the design of the bedside power sockets. If you’re using a larger adapter—such as the standard Apple three-pin plug—you won’t be able to connect it properly due to the tight placement. A more flexible socket layout would greatly improve guest convenience.
Room Service Pricing
We attempted to order a glass of juice and were quite surprised by the pricing. The staff informed us that a single glass of juice costs KES 900, with an additional KES 1,000 delivery service charge—surpassing the cost of the item itself. As someone with over 18 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, this was the first time I’ve encountered a hotel charging a room service delivery fee that exceeds the price of the item. This pricing structure felt unreasonable and could certainly benefit from greater transparency and guest-friendly adjustments.
Reception & Staff
The front desk team was highly active and professional. They ensured all guest details were carefully managed and provided helpful support throughout the stay. Their warm demeanor and attentiveness were much appreciated.
Shuttle Service
The hotel provides an airport shuttle service, which is a valuable and convenient offering. The driver was polite and extremely helpful. However, punctuality was an issue. We were informed that the shuttle would depart at 5:00 AM, and we arrived in the lobby 10 minutes early. Unfortunately, the shuttle left 15 minutes late because other guests were delayed. For an airport transfer, such delays can cause serious inconvenience—especially for guests with early flights. We recommend enforcing a maximum wait time of 5 minutes to ensure fairness and timeliness for all travelers.
Noise Levels While the room was otherwise quiet and relaxing, there was noticeable music playing in the evening, which may disturb light sleepers. This is something to consider if you’re seeking an early night before a flight.
Final Thoughts
The Argyle Grand Hotel offers a visually stunning environment, comfortable accommodations, and excellent service from its staff. With a few adjustments in pricing policies and shuttle scheduling, it has the potential to deliver an outstanding guest experience. For those transiting through Nairobi Airport, it remains a solid and worthwhile option for a short stay.
JJason2023Good location if you want to be fairly central with a few minutes walk to plenty of bars. Uber is very efficient and cheap here if you want to travel out. The staff were very good and the restaurant/bar is 24/7 (I believe). Room was lovely. Overall, although I think Nairobi is a little on the expensive side, this was ok. I tried to book again for after the safari but it was more expensive so i went to the Swiss Belinn instead, which was cheaper and the same standard (a little further away but again, Uber and Bolt are super efficient and cheap here).
TIPS FOR FOREIGNERS COMING INTO KENYA:
1. Get your currency outside of Kenya, the exchange rate here, particularly at the airport, is absolutely awful - I found them to be offering upto 35% less than the actual rate.
2. You only really need a small amount of cash here - most places you will visit accept card.
3. DO NOT BUY A TELKOM SIM CARD. It is absolutely useless, even in Nairobi but does not work AT ALL on safari.
4. Uber and Bolt are very good here.
5. If you are doing safari and your trip does not include the national park fees (payable in USD), make sure you get those before arriving - the banks and ATMs here are very unreliable if you want USD.
6. Do not pay extortionate hotel prices for laundry - find a local company who will collect and deliver your laundry for a fraction of the price like Smartfua Laundromat.
7. If you go on Safari, try not to sit on the back of the vehicle - it gets VERY bumpy.
Have a great trip!
GGuest User1. Hotel is located at prime location specially for Muslim travellers as finding Halal food is too easy, and getting all other stuffs is also convenient.
2. Wifi is too weak at the hotel.
3. When I arrived my mattress was broken, it was changed after almost 3 to 4 requests , but new one also I dont find more comfortable.
4. Rest, all facilities are very good considering the price.

Very Good
GGuest UserOverall this hotel was good. The breakfast food spread was amazing and the A-la-cart items you could order at dinner were very fancy and delicious.
The staff was friendly and kind (but they often seemed overwhelmed with work). There was a huge walking path in the back of the lot. The grounds were beautiful. The hotel was clean. The gym was small; it included a rack of dumbbells, two or three treadmills, an elliptical machine, and one yoga mat. The water jug in the gym was empty.
We wouldn’t stay here again because there are really nice hotels nearby for 1/3 of the cost. Maybe the food variety wouldn’t be as good as Eka, or less beautiful grounds, but Eka was not worth the extra cost. We stayed two nights and the entire time couldn’t see where the $125 a night value was coming from.
Sadly, the other Nairobi hotel ratings on Trip are lower, like 3.5. An example hotel is Maison Royale. But if you’re looking for a good hotel just a bit less fancy, go somewhere else.
Some top places to stay in Nairobi are near popular attractions like National Museum of Kenya and Giraffe manor—so you can quickly get to top landmarks and amenities you need.
