English: Hello, I stayed with my class at the Diamond Hotel from 8 to 11 April 2025. The experience was overall decent, although disturbed by a strong smell of rotten eggs coming from the bathroom and by some unacceptable hygienic conditions: the toilet seat, for example, was already detached when we arrived. Unfortunately, one episode completely ruined our stay. On the last day, after leaving our luggage at the hotel and taking a tour of the city, we returned to pick them up and were given some unpleasant news: according to the staff, the toilet seat (already damaged) had been broken in our room and the sink top had come off the wall. I find it absurd that we should end up paying for damage — like the seat — that was already there when we arrived. As for the sink top, the hotel claims that we broke it. It is difficult for me to prove otherwise, since it would be my word against that of the hotel. However, it must be said that there were three of us in the room, and I am sure that if one of us had accidentally damaged such a bulky item, he or she would have noticed immediately. Furthermore, there were several objects (such as toothbrushes and mouthwashes) on the sink top that, if the top had actually been tilted or detached, would have moved or fallen — which never happened. Even looking at the electric toothbrush, no obvious tilt was noticeable. Despite this, the hotel accused us three kids and withheld 200 euros from the deposit of the entire class, for damage that we are not responsible for and that, in our opinion, did not even make sense to attribute to us. To make matters worse, the receptionist's behavior was very incorrect: he estimated the damage in less than a minute and arbitrarily decided the amount without any expertise or evidence. It is clear that the hotel took advantage of the situation, knowing that, having a train leaving in an hour, we would not be able to fully contest what happened. Later, one of our teachers contacted the hotel to try to clarify the situation, but was heavily insulted by the staff. In conclusion, I recommend to be very careful with this hotel and its staff, because, in our experience, they tend to take advantage especially of school groups.
