Hotels with Breakfast in Navarre

We have used this hotel several times over the past few years and it has been excellent. However, with a change of name (adding LUZE after hotel) comes other changes. Rooms still very clean but the restaurant quality has dropped massively. Albeit an unusual concept of a buffet kitchen i.e. pick your food from a selection of cooked foods or select raw meat, poultry or fish and have it cooked to your liking, this used to be a brilliant concept that worked well. Pick your favourite foods, have them cooked and then select your choice of accompaniments. Even at a relatively high menu price of €21 per person it would have still represented fair value for money. But not now! Sadly, if our experience last night is anything to go by, the quality of the meats etc was poor and almost all of the selection of hot accompaniments and other available dishes were served up at tepid temperatures at best. When I mentioned this to the manager he said he was sorry but did not offer a reason as to why the dishes were cold and did not make any offer to reheat anything. Quite frankly he was much more interested in pandering to a visiting football team in another area of the restaurant. As there is no other restaurant within several miles from this place, I would seriously avoid it.

For those who admire St. Francisco Xavier, it's the best hotel. The service was very nice, but the meal was superb excellent! I can't forget the joy of staying next to Xavier Castle and traveling by car to nearby villages and enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Basque region. The only inconvenience is that the rental car is the only way to get there. It is the hotel that I want to visit again and stay there.

Stayed at the Exe for nine consecutive nights and can recommend this hotel to anyone searching for a reasonably priced yet well appointed accommodations in Pamplona. Quiet, clean, modern, convenient are some of the adjectives we can use for the Exe. Other reviews mentioned noise, yet we stayed none nights in a row without any problems with excess noise. Other reviews mention pricing, but we've stayed in several other hotels in Pamplona and will attest that at this price level the Exe is fairly priced and a bargain for the quality of the room! (I would challenge any Pamplona hotel to be ”quiet” or ”inexpensive” during San Fermin!).

The room is small and the bedding is not very good. There are too few breakfast varieties, not even eggs. At the entrance of the hotel is a big supermarket, it is convenient to buy things. The location is close to the exit of the highway, which is somewhat biased, but it is very convenient to drive by yourself.

I’d give it 6 stars if that were possible. From the moment we checked in we knew this was a top notch property. The front desk staff are incredibly professional, friendly and go out of their way to assist wherever they can. Housekeeping is exceptional and the turndown service at night is just wonderful — always leaving us bottles of water and chocolates by our bedside tables. The bathroom towels were luxurious and changed daily, the water pressure in the shower was delightful. Our junior suite was very comfortable and restful and we had a lovely balcony view of the Plaza del Castillo minus the noise from the street down below. In short, we had a WONDERFUL week in Pamplona and this establishment deserves its #1 spot hands down. Muchísimas gracias al Gran Hotel La Perla, lo pasamos de cine. Hasta la próxima.

This is a really nice hotel, xlose to the historic medieval part of the city. Parking in the hotel is limited but we got a space. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and we got a room upgrade. The bedroom was very comfortable and had a nice terrace. The bathroom was spacious and good. Breakfast was a typical buffet affair and not crowded. Only negative point that tipped this to a 4 is why oh why do high quality hotels give cardboard coffee cups...and please don't play the environmental card! Otherwise an excellent stay.
