Nothing wrong with this place if your expectations fit. Helpful that it’s called a “hostal”. The people seem nice though they did not speak any English and my Spanish is terrible so communication was a bit challenging. The restaurant is EXCELLENT! Our room was quite small and very rustic - everything is made of unfinished wood so you have to be careful of splinters and there is no insulation for noise or temperature. No heat. Very very cold in the morning (lots of blankets on the bed so OK for sleeping). Good hot water. Very tiny bathroom with stand up shower, but private/ensuite. No where to store or hang anything. Breakfast was left out for us in the tiny shared kitchen, eggs (cook yourself), bread and cheese, cake, juice, coffee. Would have been fine except really not enough room in there for more than 2 people, and 3 rooms were trying to get breakfast at the same time. No towels in the room; had to get them from the kitchen (weird) and we didn’t know so trips up and down the steep hill to the restaurant to figure it out. Door didn’t lock properly on our first room so they moved us (check room before accepting it).
