Golden Sand

The photos reflect the hotel. Extremely clean. Staff work hard to make your stay pleasant. Just a few step away from a beautiful beach. Air con is very good. Loved the orange cake at breakfast, delicious. Drinks and meals about average price, I didn’t find it expensive at all. Sun beds around the pool are very comfortable. Pool small but all you need to cool off and again well maintained. Our bed was very comfortable, linen lovely. I would recommend a sea view room. Very quiet but it is still early season. A regular bus gets you to Naxos town or to the villages along the way where there is more choice of eating places. Hairdryer in room is good. Sockets in all the right places. All in all, a very well maintained place to stay with amazing views and friendly staff.

My family of 4 stayed here for a 2 night stay and it was perfect. We rented ATVs in Chora and drove them to the Gold Sand. I believe it was no more than a 100 feet walk to the beach were we laid out and enjoyed the sun. Gold Sand also had a very nice pool which had a bar. The location was good for sightseeing in taking the ATVs out and about, as well as driving up the coast to a restaurant. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

This place is great. Nice people running it. Great service! They found us a rental car last minute when it seemed like we were SOL. They make a good pina coloda and they make a real good burger with homemade buns they cook fresh when you order. They serve you drinks and food tight on the beach. Great breakfast included. One of the best beaches in greece. If you go to Naxos you should stay here!

After reading bad reviews on the hotel we still did give it a try. And we did the right choice. Its on a very nice location of Plaka beach. The hotel has a restaurant with food, Snacks and drinks the whole day. Yes the food is on the pricey side but its delicious, big Portions and cooked fresh for you. The hotel has a nice pool where you could actually swim. Where we were in Greece from Santorini to Creta the pools were always freezing. It has sundecks on the beach free to use, yes on the 3d row for the hotel guests. The breakfast is also a plus, fresh greek yoghurt, fresh fruits, different cold meats, fresh cheese...what else do you need? We booked a junior seaview suite, comfortable room with a big balcon, nice bathroom and a big fridge. Wi fi in all areas, nice staff always there to help We are very happy with our choice and will definitively come back.

Stayed here as a family of 4 with 2 children under 11, in the family apartment. The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, a mini kitchen and a good sized bathroom with a powerful shower. Basic toiletries are supplied. The rooms are spacious and airy. The master bedroom has good wardrobe space, the air con worked really well. The apartment was cleaned and beds made every day. The outdoor jacuzzi is a nice touch. The kids liked to get in at the end of a day on the beach. The staff are lovely, the receptionist is very knowledgeable and organised car hire for us. The Manager is so friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for her. The breakfast each morning is a joy. Traditional Naxian pies, eggs, breads, fruit, yoghurt etc. So much choice. The swimming pool isn’t huge but it is perfect for the little ones. You are literally a 30 second walk from the beach, where you will find a dedicated sun lounger and a member of staff who can bring whatever beverage you may require to the beach. The loungers are old and could be better, but you soon forget about them when on Plaka, it is a magnificent beach. Food and drink at Golden Sand is expensive, but the quality is good. Highly recommend Golden Sand for a relaxing, quiet family holiday.
