Sandals Negril Beach All Inclusive Resort and Spa - Couples Only

I’ve been wanting to come to Sandals for years. With all the advertising speaking of high class service, exceptional food, etc. I couldn’t wait to go but I was disappointed. This is NOT the worst all inclusive but definitely not what they advertise or what I expected. The rooms are dated and bathrooms tiny unless you spring for a high end room which is in a newer tower. Who would know this when booking? The food is NOT high quality, overcooked lobster from the Sundowner and the breakfast buffet is constantly out of items which they are slow to replace. Instead of keeping things on hand/in stock, seems the trend is to wait until it runs out and make guests wait until they choose to replenish. This also applies at the omelette stand. Crazy, I know and we had this same experience arriving at breakfast early and later in the morning, so clearly this is their standard operating procedure. The activities are somewhat fun but DO NOT start on time and one event we attempted to attend didn’t happen at all and not one person came to make an announcement of such. The entertainment staff overall is extremely engaging. You will see them throughout the resort. Ruth is part of the entertainment staff and is a pleasant, beautiful young lady and a wonderful dancer. I will say overall, my sister and I had a nice time and though there are a number of staff members who stood out, there are many who could use training in smiling and simply greeting guests. No one wants to pay Sandals prices and be made to feel as if they are bothering staff because their attitude presents as if they choose to not be bothered. Also, my sister is deathly afraid of cats and they were all over the Barefoot which is a restaurant located on the beach. These cats literally come to the table and climb on the side of the seat. You will also encounter them as well as extremely aggressive birds who will grab food from your table while you’re eating. This is at the Bayside Grill where they hold the breakfast buffet. The staff members I would like to highlight are Asha-Lee, this young lady is amazing. Attentive, engaging and seemingly looking for a way to assist. She works in food service which is a waste, she is clearly concierge material as she seeks to assists guests with matters outside of her area. Andre “Brice” young man, super engaging, beautiful smile and makes you feel welcome. There was not a time he saw us and did not interact. Jhanelle held it down at the bar and even when busy, managed to speak and not allow guests to feel ignored. While on the bar, this is another area that needs to be improved upon. Why does every bar NOT have cold, bottled water but all through the day you see staff pushing cases of water around, they can’t all be going to the rooms, but this again speaks to what I mentioned earlier, don’t restock before you’re out, make the guest wait to then bring them a warm bottle of water in the heat or simply say you’re all out. The same was experienced with certain alcohol

We just returned from our fifth anniversary trip at Sandals Negril where we got married. We informed the staff we were returning for our anniversary when asked about any special event we were celebrating (upon check-in). Most resorts do something special for anniversaries, and I would assume Sandals would especially when they proactively asked which specific date our anniversary was and they were well aware we had our wedding at the resort. Nothing. Even worse, our room didn’t even get cleaned that day! In fact, our room was cleaned only twice in the six days we were there. We called before we left before the beach a few days to ask for them to clean our room before we returned. That only happened once. The food was very good; however, I returned with what my doctor suspects is a giardia parasitic infection (easily treated by antibiotics), but lab tests are not back yet. I have all the symptoms, which started three days after I ate what I suspected was undercooked fish I sent back. One evening, we had reservations at Sundowner and literally waited 40 minutes before someone brought us bread and no one took our food order (we did get drinks). We were told a staff member had gotten sick (New Year’s day—lots of rude, likely hungover staff that day). No apologies or anything when a waiter did come over and we explained we had been seated for over 40 minutes—just an expression of shock and an explanation. We ended up leaving and went to Bayside, a non-reservation restaurant, which was closing in 15 minutes. We explained our situation and they fortunately served us, but warned us in advance the chef that night was “heavy handed with the spices,” so the linguini we ordered may be too spicy. She was right. That was our worst night after a disappointing day of no recognition of our anniversary. Staff at the pool and beach bars acted like they didn’t want to be at work. I don’t think even one made eye contact with us. Totally different experience than the happy Jamaican people we’ve always experienced. We did see numerous massive stingrays in the shallow water in the ocean, but no warnings from the resort. The beach is gorgeous, but the stingrays made us a little leery of venturing into the ocean too much. The only highlight of our trip was Sasha, the amazing photographer who took fantastic photos at sunset on the beach to commemorate our anniversary at the resort where we got married. We did pay dearly for the photos though ($550), but they really are great. That said, we will not receive our photo book for 6-8 weeks. We did leave a message with the front desk asking for a manager to contact us about our experiences, but never received a call. We paid $9,000 for this trip. You would think service would have been a little better!

Beach lovers paradise. Staff were real friendly and the surroundings are beautiful. We love Sandals, and even when we’ve experienced minor issues, they are always on hand to sort everything out. Gorgeous resort, fab restaurants and we can’t wait to go back!

Have just returned from a fabulous 2 week break at Sandals Negril. Highlights are ... The staff!! Wonderful people who are genuinely friendly, funny and can't do too much for you. Everyone was lovely but big five star shout outs to.. Chris - Piano Bar. Loved listening to his stories whilst mixing the drinks.34 yrs at resort is a massive achievement hoping it continues! King James - Animation. Lovely Lovely guy always friendly and knows every guest, we miss our daily call of 'Hello Lisa hi Matt!!" Our queen of the Perla patties Asha Lee! Love you! Xx The mumma Claudea at Barefoot- always smiling and runs a tight ship, thanks for our morning mimosas! Shaniq at Bayside - thanks for everything and making us so welcome Dyman- you are a diamond geezer! Nicordo at the barefoot and sundowner- very sweet and friendly guy Food and drink All the restaurants were very good, our favourites were the Sundowner and Brava but they were all lovely .Not hating on buffets but it's nice that most of the restaurants are a la carte and are easily bookable in our experience. Drinks quality were great , all top brands,the only downside was there wasn't only low sugar alternatives for the mixers. Beach Stunning coastline along the famous 7 mile Negril beach. Great for a wander or just relax and take some rays and watch the sunsets. The locals who are plying their trades were all very friendly and not pushy at all. A simple "no thankyou, have a good day" if you're not interested is all it takes. They were all very easy going and if you're lucky you might get a song from Joshua and George!

Service and hospitality is top notch. Kenrick and Jermaine went above and beyond to ensure I felt special for my birthday celebration. They listened and took every opportunity to surprise and delight. They made great recommendations for me and my husband both on and off site. Keron was a happy fun loving person who took amazing photos of me and my family. We experienced great service from Chris at the pool bar during the day and Keith and Shane at night! Kudos to Shantal and her positive attitude and great smile. Don't let others sway you! Service is spectacular and the staff all tried to ensure a great experience for us daily! This place is a must! Relax and enjoy the laid back atmosphere and hospitality! Book now!

Sandals Negril was a beautiful resort! I went on a girls trip and it was so much fun. The restaurants were delicious with so many options. My favorite being the buffet! The coffee and ice cream were to die for as well. The staff were excellent. Our new friend Lush showed our group so much kindness. He worked all day at the resort, performed in the show that night, and stayed up very late to dance with us at the karaoke/dance party. That will always be one of my favorite memories! Lush definitely made our trip so much fun! The beach and pool were amazing. The activities were awesome as well. My only complaint is not having even time to do every thing the resort offers!
