Pihopa Retreat is the perfect place to clock off from the world and immerse in beautiful natural surroundings. Stunning bird life, nearby bush walks and coastal exploring. The room was beautifully decadent and the view from the bath an amazing. Breakfast was another highlight. Just to experience that alone. In an old beautiful wooden chapel as well. I'll be back to enjoy a summer day by the pool. A must visit. Thank you Sarah for all your help.

Boutique luxury at its very best! You cannot fault the setting , the accommodation and the welcome you get from Sarah and her team. It is clear that Sarah is passionate about what she has created at Pihopa and the guest experience she and her team delivers. We really appreciated all the little touches and thoughtful things that we received. Love the cocktails and canapés by the pool in the evening! Pihopa has won many prestigious awards, quite rightly so. It was our second stay here and I would not hesitate to recommend and book again.

Anne & I spent 3 wonderful nights at the Pihopa Retreat in Nelson. Sarah and her incredible team did just the most amazing job of making sure our time there was faultless. We have stayed in some wonderful places around the world and this is absolutely one of them. We are seriously looking forward to returning one day to enjoy that experience again. Our stay at the Pihopa Retreat was amazing! The attention to all the little details really stands out. Sarah, Annie and all the staff were incredibly nice and personable. Loved the nightly happy hour as an opportunity to get to know the staff and other guests. We will be back next time we out in NZ.

Elegant, well appointed rooms on a beautiful park-like property. Impeccable service. Fantastic breakfast in the chapel and wonderful pre-dinner drinks and canapes poolside. Beautiful pastries and excellent warm drink selection in the room with fully stocked minibar (all included in the price). We stayed at this place before and after our 3-day trip to Abel Tasman and on our return stay, were very pleasantly surprised that the owner offered to do our laundry overnight. Also, we were too tired to go out for a meal and she provided us with a wonderful charcuterie board with meat and cheeses (all inclusive). What a wonderful place. We will return and highly recommend Pihopa Retreat.

What a fabulous and beautiful place to stay. The best cakes in NZ. The rooms had everything we could require. It’s peaceful. The evening drinks and canapés were an event in themselves and the breakfasts in the chapel were amazing. Thank you Sarah and team.

Absolutely wonderful! The suite and property were beautiful- so much attention to detail! The breakfast was out of this world - freshly baked muffins and croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, and amazing omelets, pancakes and more ! When our arrival was delayed because of flight issues, we were greeted at a late hour with a lovely cheese and fruit board and a chilled bottle of wine. And Taxi’s were provided into town for dinner each night as yet another bonus. If visiting the Nelson area, this is the perfect choice!

We had a wonderful experience staying at the lovely Pihopa Retreat. The accommodations were luxurious and comfortable, the staff were warm, friendly and knowledgeable about the area, and made us feel so very welcome, and the country breakfast was simply out of this world. I cannot imagine that there would be a better place to stay when visiting Nelson! Unquestionably, we would return to this lovely accommodation upon our next visit to the Nelson area.
