York North West

I was booked this hotel for work and was there for the month. I can't sing my praises enough about every member of staff that works here, from the hotel reception, to the housekeeping team and the Beefeater team next door. I was pretty nervous the first time I stayed, I'd not been to any hotels alone before, but the team were so welcoming, there was nothing that they couldn't help me with. Each week I was there, I would have to check out and back in again at the start of the week, and by the third week the lovely girl on reception (I didn't get her name, sorry!) recognised me and remembered my name - which was a small touch but made me feel welcome. From when I locked myself out my room, to when I was running late to check out, the whole team was lovely. I was booked on a breakfast package for the Beefeater, and once again, everyone was absolutely wonderful there. Mitchell (I think his name was - the manager with the glasses) was extremely friendly each morning, always greeting everyone with a smile and welcoming every guest personally. Again, there were so many stand out staff part of the team, including the person who followed me outside to return my airpods I'd left behind. It could be a bit isolating staying by yourself away from your home, but everyone who works here made that feeling drift away immediately, the food both for breakfast and on the evenings were always lovely, with the best service. The atmosphere was lovely, the rooms were always clean, and the staff were available 24/7. To say that everything was and everyone was lovely would be a disservice, I can't thank everyone enough for making me feel welcome, and my stay lovely.

We chose this Premier Inn as we were aware the city center would be extremely busy what with it been half term and the Viking festival going on. We had done our own research and had identified the number 10 bus route was about 400 meters away. It costs £1.50 into town where as a taxi would cost between £12 and £15. We were greeted by a very friendly lady on reception, we had requested an early check in as we were eager to get into town. This was all ready for us on arrival and we were soon on our way. The room was very clean and spacious and had everything we would ever require during our stay. We had breakfast and evening meals at the neighboring Beefeater. Only one slight issue, the coffee machine was broken so a jar of instant coffee had been left for guests to help themselves. Now I don't like to be pushy but..... if I'm staying in a posh hotel I would expect to get a proper cup of coffee in the morning. That said, Mitch the staff member who seemed to be always on duty was very pleasant and helpful and couldn't do enough for the guests. For me he was the stand out staff member from this trip. Would I stay here again, absolutely it was ideal for our visit to York.

Place was ok for cheapness to get into York wth car ,bus stop 10 min walk away £3 into York ,brewers fayre next door ab shocking food 🤮& people complain about Wetherspoons food ,which compared to b fayre is ab fantastic Second time we ate here thought was our bad choice last time NO ITS THE PUB FOOD YAK YAK

I stayed over Christmas and New Year and had a pleasant 9 nights visiting friends and family around York. A good location, I did take a taxi on a couple of occasions but I did need my own car to get around as I visited people in different parts of York.
