The Sullivan House

Our room in main house had a lovely view. Bathroom very small. Accommodations simple. Great location for walking to town beach, paddling Great Salt Pond, & sunsets. We also stayed in new (2021) king suite- quiet, nice porch, good A/C, expensive in high season.

The Sullivan house was top notch! The accommodations and staff was more than welcoming, friendly, informative and helpful. The breakfast and service was first rate. The porch view was beautiful, relaxing and quiet. It was fun to chat with other guest late night while enjoying the harbor scenery. We look forward to staying there again.

Nice time celebrating our wedding anniversary. Very welcoming staff. Beautiful views from our room. A mile walk from town -- very doable ! We were in a perfect sized room for a couple. Ac and breakfast included was a plus. Tv was small but hardly spent anytime in the room so wasn't that big of a deal.

All bedrooms are upstairs, so be prepared to carry your luggage and belongings up. I was in room 2 and it was clean, clean, clean! There are little cubbies to put your things in and a bedside table. Each room has a TV. The bed was extremely comfortable and l want to buy the same mattress. The staff comes in daily cleans and gives fresh towels, total bonus. Don’t forget to bring cash for tipping! Breakfasts were good too! There is lemonade, water, hot tea and coffee 24 hours a day. I would “suggest” having larger cups for the drinks. Ice is located outside on the porch, oceanside. The staff was extremely nice which made our stay even better! The ocean is across the street, within walking distance or you can rent a bike. There is a parking lot if you drive over. Get there early though because it gets packed! I will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I loved having our anniversary getaway here! Great b&b perched on top of the hill across the main beach with stunning views of both harbors. Being away from the “downtown” area, the night was quiet and we had a lovely sea breeze coming through the window. We woke up to a nice breakfast downstairs: ham quiche with onion marmalade, OJ, coffee, watermelon and hash browns!

If you are looking to recharge your battery, the Sullivan property is the place to stay! Because we booked last minute, we had the opportunity to experience a one night stay in the Seaview building and then a second night in the main house. Both were delightful, but different. The Seaview building is newly renovated while the main house has all the rustic charm of its era (see pictures!). My husband and I had the most glorious three days/two nights of rest and relaxation. Both Lisa and Rosalie (sp?) were WONDERFUL hosts and we felt very welcomed. The property is right across from one of the beach access points and just a short walk to town. We both walked to town and rented the bikes available on the property. Right before we visited Block Island, we discovered that a neighbor of ours had also stayed at the Sullivan House in 2021 as a wedding guest. He raved about his stay and told us we would love it -- and he was right! We hope to get back to Block Island and would definitely stay at the Sullivan House when/if we do.
