New York Hotels with Airport pickup service

Normally I am not a complaining type, but this is a bit much!! I am a platinum member of Choice Hotels. I booked a room using my points at the Paul NYC checking on 1 Feb 2023 for 1 night before I arrived very late and on 2 Feb I will go upstate to visit my dear friend! I was travelling from BKK to NYC and during my layover, my flight to NYC got delayed from arriving JFK at 11:50pm of 1 Feb to 02:30am of 2 Feb instead. I called the hotel during my layover right away to inform them about my late arrival. Everything seemed ok and the hotel person confirmed me the reservation. When I got to hotel at 4:30am, the front desk told me my booking was canceled because the hotel had other activities booked. They moved all paid guests to the hotel nearby and it has been going on like this already for 1 week. Since I booked using points, they just canceled it without further explanations or any assistance on my booking. It was -4c outside...lol I asked if they can check me in at the other choices hotel near by, I just need to rest for few hours. The hotel people didnt even bother to call customer service to check. I called the customer service. The lady at the end of the line was very helpful but it took so long to find the answer. They want to move me to Brooklyn (I paid for the taxi myself) and I have to pay early check-in on top....blah..blah. Another hour passed (almost 6am) so I asked the front desk at Paul if I can leave my luggage for few hours and using the toilet and the answer was no. It is 6:30am and I found an excellent luggage service via Bounce nearby. I drop my luggage at the Premier Best Western hotel (Bounce) and use the toilet. Their service was flawless!!! I went right to work at Starbucks after my 24-hour flight and got a lot of things done instead of sleeping at the unfriendly hotel! It is ashamed that Choice Hotels advertise so much about their privileges program and this is the way they treat the customers. This is not the problem about spending money, but it is the business principle how they should run the business.

Location is very nice if you are planning to layover at a JFK airport hotel, however the bus to airport are always late so be aware of your flight time!

I would rate the hotel adequately nice. However, a state of readiness of the room and the room's amenities (desk and a/c or heater) are in a poor state compared to the hotel's rate of $450 a night. When I got there, a wall-mounted/foldable desk was not in state for immediate use. I had to call a maintenance to do a quick computer work. If a check-in time is 16:00, I expect furnitures to be working. Overall, the room design is cute (somewhere between boutique and small studio room without a fridge). And, it is clean. However, beddings were lesser qualities that I expected to come from a $450 a night hotel. It is comparable to the ones from Holiday inn's or average hostels. They were thin also. Definitely bring pajamas if you are sensitive to cold. A heater here makes a noticeable vibration with bothering noise. I was too tired from waking up from it. But, it is quite a bother when you are just relaxing. Other than that I really like the overall design of the room and facilities that come with the room. However, quality of amenities are not really upto the standard of the rate of the hotel. Purely it is a business trip that prioritizes convenience in terms of location. I would not mind booking this place if I were to travel alone. However, for a couple, I would not since it is quite small. Overall, single traveler would like it but for a couple may be suffocating (double room).

If you're not a hotel snob and you can go with the flow, this place will do. We stayed 1 night in the Tryp Premium Family Room (301 to be exact) which sleeps 8 people. Assuming you have lots of plans and won't even be in the room that much and are really just there to sleep, I think this room was just fine. Our room wasn't ready until 5pm (for reference, check in is at 3pm...) which did mess up our afternoon plans but we're chill and it wasn't the end of the world. The room was spacious (which is pretty rare in NYC), the beds were comfortable, the kitchenette was clean and mini fridge worked. Some of the outlets were broken, but there were enough throughout the room that we were all able to charge our stuff without having to take turns or anything. Some people's towels were dirty/musty. Overall it was a pretty industrial, very bare-bones style. It's not posh, so don't expect much. Sometimes there was literally no one at the front desk. When I had them hold my luggage for the day (in a closet next to the front desk) they just had me go in and put it in there myself, there was no one watching the room. No bag tags or anything. When I came back to get it they also told me to just go in and get it myself lol I wasn't too worried but your stuff isn't being watched or secured. TL;DR -- PROS: spacious, comfortable beds/bunk/couch, nice kitchenette, two clean bathrooms, entrance to ACE trains right at the corner, very short walk to Penn Station/Times Square/Herald Square, good room to accommodate a group of 8 (for a bachelor/bachelorette/party/etc) if you all want to be in the same room as opposed to getting conjoining rooms. CONS: sometimes there wasn't anyone at the front desk... like literally no one lol, room wasn't ready until 5pm, shower towels were dirty, hotel ”ran out” of extra pillows and blankets... honestly I just don't think they wanted to get them for us lol they said they would deliver sheets to our room just to have something but no one ever came with them which we weren't surprised about lol, telephone in the room did not work, some of the outlets didn't work (specifically the ones attached to the table), luggage holding not very secure.

The hotel is in a good environment, off the Wall Street, there is a subway station on the side. American hotels basically do not have a hot water bottle. Many people recommend multi-day travel with an electric kettle to boil water (of course, the conversion plug is necessary). The hotel does not have toothbrushes and slippers and needs to bring your own. Other hangers are available, the hotel is equipped with an iron, ironing is convenient

The corner two-bedroom room has a nice view, and it is very comfortable for a family of four. It's not far from the subway when you go out, and the transportation is convenient. The doorman downstairs is very active in carrying luggage.

Their shuttle service runs until 11PM. Luckily, we were able to catch the last shuttle. When we got there, one of the front desk persons got into an argument with a customer and stopped assisting other guests 🥹 we had to wait longer to check-in because of that. The other receptionist was calm despite what happened and he was friendly and helpful. The rooms are small. So if there are 4 of you in a room, your luggages will barely fit. The beds were comfortable but the rooms aren’t soundproof so you can really hear the street and the neighbors. Bring earplugs if noise bothers you. Breakfast was a pantry with cereals, bagels, eggs, potatoes, a meat dish, and fruits. No frills but it was more than enough for us. The best thing about the hotel is the location so if you have an early flight the next day, it will take you 10 minutes or less to get to your terminal if you’re in terminal 1 and another 10 minutes for every next terminal so plan accordingly.

Many friends and family asked me why we always stay at the same hotel in Tribeca. My answer is that nothing would compare to The Four Seasons. From the moment that you enter to the point of leaving, your needs are always met and you feel so pampered. Both the guest rooms and the suites are wonderful but it is the small touches: electronic pad in the room so as to ask questions and request whatever is needed; the staff is always so sweet and helpful; the rooms are beautiful and clean. I cannot find any fault and I highly recommend this hotel. It may feel smaller in size, but offers everything that is needed

Well located in Upper West Side, close to Central Park and to the 87th subway station of line 1.

This is our go to hotel in Midtown. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Lina assisted us with check in, it was a chaotic scene outside of the hotel as there was a fire emergency down the block and the street was being shut down and evacuated. She quickly assisted us with checking in and finding a spot to leave our car safely until the valet could move it. As for the hotel, very clean with spacious rooms, floor to ceiling windows and great views. Bathroom is spacious, nespresso in room. Love the coffee in the morning 2nd floor lounge as well as happy hour with complimentary wine, olives, and almonds. Perfect touch!! Restaurant is nice French restaurant with $25 credit daily. Great for breakfast! Used the credit to get sandwiches for the road. We will be back!
