優點：1，民宿主人熱情接待並介紹房間設施。2，一樓有電視可以打遊戲，一樓廚房設施全，可以自己做飯，後院可以喝咖啡，BBQ。3，位於市區內，距離6號地鐵口2分鐘，地鐵出行方便遊覽時間可控，每天可以省出租車費用100美元以上。4，最大的優點是房間價格便宜。缺點：1，公共衞生間，如果有潔癖的人請綜合考慮。2，距離火車軌道近，稍稍有火車聲音，如果神經衰弱入睡困難的人，請謹慎考慮。結論，下次我去紐約市中心，還會續訂這個酒店入住。

My husband & I stayed here for 4 nights. The host seemed welcoming at first, and the first 3 nights were ok. HOWEVER on the 4th night the owner & her partner and possibly another person were having screaming fights. We went to sleep and were woken up by the shouting several times during the night. We needed to get up at around 6:30 to be able to make our breakfast & pack up to leave, but the screaming was so intense at that hour that we just packed up and left without making our breakfast. Stay here at your own risk, as this is not the first review to mention these kind of disturbances.

I don't recommend this place to anyone!!! This hostel is a disaster. The administrator shouted at the top of her lungs at her husband without respecting the guests most all the time, on the second day there was a fight at 3 in the morning We paid 330 dollars for two days plus $25 early arriving (11:30 am)... the place smells like cheap disinfectant, the beds harder than a stone, we asked for shampoo and the woman said "oh here we don't have it you need to bring your own shampoo"

I read the mixed reviews and chose Macaw Guesthouse anyway - I am glad that I did. It was a reasonable option in expensive New York City and it was as described. Charming hosts who went out of their way to welcome me and ensure that I was comfortable. Short walk to transportation options and dining options nearby. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Unfortunately the experience was very negative and staff response to feedback was even worse. There was a strange smell in the hotel and room and there were people arguing for a long time. When brought up to the owner after my colleague's stay she was hostile, accused me of being a scammer, and did not accept responsibility (she said the infuser should have prevented smell and people in NYC are loud and accused my colleague of hitting on her son and threatened to call the police for emailing her my concern). Please be cautious about this guest house.
